According to Zillow, the median home price in Florida is around $350,000. I personally believe that home prices are going to stabilize and have a slight drop in the next 3-6 months due to inflation and sales drop.

Now, that might be because homeowners of larger homes are selling their equity. (Meaning they cashing out).

This could result in a drop in price in high end homes but a sharp increase in price in small to mid low end homes ( Flippers downsizing due to profit taking and starting over).

Here are the numbers if you want to buy or invest in a $300,000 property:

for FHA loan ( primary residence, you must live in the house 1 year) you will need 3.5% or $10,500 for the down payment.
And at around 3% APR you will have a mortgage payment of $1221. With taxes and insurance that number is $1448.

But How much do you need to make in order to afford this payment? Banks want the mortgage payment around 28% of your income so you take the $1221 and divided by 0.28 and you have to have a household income (couples) of a total of $4350!!

So if yourself and your spouse make this total you could afford this price range in Florida!!!!
