Stretching, strengthening, suppling the iliososas through multi-dimensional spirals and waves.
Despite its importance to walking, running and cycling, the iliopsoas is muscle that is often overlooked and undertrained, . As a primary hip flexor, its used every time you bring your leg forward. Located deep in the abdominal cavity it spirals from the lumbar spine to the femur. Its position, orientation, and spiraling fibers makes it particularly difficult to feel and access. Through the use of props, equipment, and good cueing, Gyrotonic movements can help to access, and train the ilioposas to maintain good posture when walking, increase stride length when running, and improve power on when cyling.

Join us for Gyrotonic Level 1 Pretraining April 18-23 taught by Heather Jackson.
Covering the primary movements found in the Level 1 syllabus, the pretraining is designed for students looking to deepen their understanding of the Gyrotonic method and serves to prepare students for the Gyrotonic Level 1 Foundation course. It is a necessary prerequisite for becoming a Gyrotonic instructor.
