The Gray Family Foundation is founded on the belief that fostering an understanding and appreciation of our natural world is a crucial part of a child's education. As Oregon's largest statewide funder for environmental education, the Gray Family Foundation is working to ensure that every Oregonian has the opportunity to experience our state's natural wonders and learn to care for their place and community over a lifetime.
We greatly appreciate all who attended Oregon Community Foundation’s annual Conexiones Summit!
First Foods class is an instrumental (and fun!) part of Salem-Keizer Public Schools Native Education Program. On Cultural Enrichment nights, Native students and their families learn how to prepare foods such as sunflower cookies from an Indigenous chef using Oregon ingredients! Gray Family Foundation is excited to support the NEP program where students learn about Indigenous foods, harvest traditions, and nutritional and medicinal value of local foods.

"We should all be working to create a world that is more equitable than the one we inherited." - Shelby Chestnut, executive director, Transgender Law Center.
Today is Transgender Day of Visibility. Gray Family Foundation believes that every person deserves to live a life of dignity as their full selves. Trans people have made significant contributions to making our world a better place. Yet, today they are facing tremendous backlash across our country and our state. We all play a critical role in supporting human rights and showing up for our most marginalized communities. We hope you will join us in becoming more educated and a stronger ally for the transgender community.

Our Story
The Gray Family Foundation is founded on the belief that fostering an understanding and appreciation of our natural world is a crucial part of a child’s education.
A supporting organization of the Oregon Community Foundation, the Gray Family Foundation works to encourage greater civic engagement in Oregon through investments that promote environmental literacy. By supporting programs such as Outdoor School, geography education, and professional development for teachers, we seek to give Oregon students a greater understanding of the world outside their classroom.
The Foundation believes that studying not just about but in the out-of-doors has a profound and lasting impact on a child’s learning as a whole.
