Exciting new affordable housing in Medford, Oregon!

"New Spirit Village is a creative re-thinking on the development of affordable housing. While this one project of 87 homes will not solve the housing crisis in the U S, or even in Southern Oregon, it can serve as a prototype for building affordable communities because it encompasses so much more than just a new building type. Rather, it is a whole new approach that creates the opportunity for a way out of multi-generational poverty."

OHA study confirms gap in behavioral health treatment beds across Oregon, details financial path to expanding capacity 07/01/2024

"As most of you know, Oregon ranks at or near the bottom of states in terms of access to behavioral health services, and the study shows that. According to the study, Oregon needs to build 3700 new beds for adults to meet our state’s current needs. That breaks down to new 650 beds a year, for four years, and a price tag of $170 million a year, for four years. It’s a daunting task, but it’s what our state truly needs. I am planning on bringing a bill that funds the total need, approximately $830 million. We’ll see how much the legislature can actually afford to devote to this important need. Stay tuned, and watch for a more in depth hearing on this report in September during September Legislative Days in the Joint Committee on Addiction and Community Safety Response." -Representative Rob Nosse
