Body Mechanics
Body Mechanics is a wellness community. All that is required is an openness and willingness to listen, connect, and engage with your body.
It is a fully equipped Pilates studio providing private and semi-private Pilates sessions, group Pilates mat and equipment classes, as well as energy work, massage, Chiropractic care, and Aesthetics services. Body Mechanics Pilates & Bodywork is a community of people, all of whom are actively engaged in their own process of transformation. Here, clients and practitioners alike come together to sup
This beautiful firecracker 𧨠just landed in Portland from Seattle, and we are elated that she is calling bodymechanics her Pilates home. She has an enthusiasm that is contagious, and she brings with her ten years of teaching experience.
Her first class is All Levels Mixed Equipment this Friday at 10:30 am.
â¨Welcome to Portland, Morgan!! Weâre so glad youâre here!! â¨
This Saturday from 1 to 4 at the studio, you are invited⌠to a place that is gentle and free, wild and playful. A place where the unending currents of abundance, creativity, and restoration are bubbling, within the supportive bowl of the pelvis.
In this three hour workshop we will engage with the embodied anatomy of the pelvis. You will be guided through meditation, movement, and creative practice. We will create a container that invites healing, mystery and play. It will encourage you to claim the incredible currents that flow through the energetic and physical anatomy of your pelvis.
This workshop series is designed to inform, but more importantly to allow for experiential learning. This class is designed for anyone born with a uterus.
bodymechanics is the studio where ALL dogs can learn new tricks đžđ

Two days ago I finished this mandala on the wall of the studio. I began painting it back in the Fall while in the middle of a deeply healing plant diet. Then I fell into a deep (metaphorical) hole and found any type of creative expression nearly impossible. So it sat, unfinished for months⌠an apt metaphor for the healing process.
As I climb out of the hole thatâs been my sanctuary for the last several months Iâm finding new ways to move forward. Iâm taking baby steps towards changing the patterns that have always propelled me.
Im opening.
Iâm listening.
Iâm softening.
Iâm trusting.
Iâm strengthening an entirely new part of my being. And this small act of completion is affirming of a new process.
Iâm releasing the PUSH.

đď¸This Saturday June 3rd, on the FULL MOON, I will make a special guest appearance teaching Jo's Saturday morning classes.Â
đMixed Equipment -- Pilates Playground at 8:00 am
đMixed Level Pilates Mat at 9:15 am
đAll Levels Pilates Reformer at 10:30 am
I've been enjoying practicing Pilates as opposed to teaching it for the last year and a half, but am looking forward to dusting off my Pilates torture skills for the day. (I might even have a few new tricks up my sleeve...) I'm looking forward to seeing new and familiar faces this Saturday morning!Â

â¨Opening to Springâ¨
There is no denying the Springtime sunshine and the light that it shines into the darkened hibernation spaces we crawled into for the Winter. I've been clearing out all of the hidden corners of the studio to create space and allow new flow. The whole studio feels like it's sighing with relief.Â
Â
I wanted to share this playlist as it is my current Springtime soundtrack. I hope you're all enjoying the sun, and giving yourself exactly what you need as you open into Spring!

At bodymechanics, we are all about cultivating a space that supports transformation and growth. We practice structured movement in a safe, community-centered environment We trust our clients feel this the moment they walk through the doorâ but we also want to extend this to our fellow instructors and colleagues.
If you are a movement instructor, we know how hard it can be to create the time and space for your own practice. We have special rates we want to extend to you so you can fill your own cup in a supportive environment.
đLetâs get connect! Send us a DM through Instagram or Facebook or shoot us an email at [email protected].
We look forward to some movement exploration with you!
I never read the rules for mothering
it seems I was absent that dayâ
perhaps all of us were.
Carrying around the textbook burden of guilt,
the weight of which mocks our
shortcomings and reveals the all-too
constant truth that weâre just winging it.
Each new day, another brave faceâ
scooping up the pieces and soldiering on.
Content and smiling with the spoils of the dayâ
an unprompted thank you, pictures on the
fridge professing a love that is unquestioned
and unfathomably realâ beyond any measure.
Tracing trails around the houseâ
discarded socks and half-eaten treasures,
a life of yesâs and noâs, pleases and thank yous
the giving and giving and giving and giving
though if given any other choiceâ weâd refuse it.
Tiny fingers and toes, growing past our ownâ
the curve of a cheek and dimpled smile
retracing years of devotionâ reminders of the
sweet days, before language gave width and breadth
and life continued moving forward despite our
most desperate pleas to STOP
for just this one
sweet
moment.
The trick beingâ it never does, never will.
These sweet moments simply pile
one on top of the other and weave through each other
to create the constant film for which there is no
rewind or pause or fast forward.
Time will allow us only to
play.
â I wrote this poem several years ago and like to pull it out and dust it off on Motherâs Day. Happy Motherâs Day to all the mothersâ particularly the bodymechanics mothers.

Just the cutest mother/daughter duo weâve ever seen đĽ°
Pilates is wonderful as a self practice but the power of moving as a community is not to be missed. Moving together fosters communication beyond verbal expression and bonds us together by shared experiences â¨
Tag a friend who you would like to take class with below âŹď¸
âĄď¸We created the February Flow challenge to give you a structure and hold you accountable in creating a steady Pilates practice for yourself. The effects of intentional movement multiple times a week does wonders for you (body and soul) and we want you to experience this for yourself.
The challenge:
âĄď¸Be in the studio 3x a week for 4 weeks (or 12x days out of 30). Included in these 3x times weekly could be solely classes, or a mix of classes, privates, duets, or trios! We will be giving out punch-cards for you to keep track of your classes and/or sessions and visualize your progress. You will have between 2/01 and 2/08 to start your card and will have 30 days to complete the challenge. At the end of your 30 days, anyone with 12 punches will receive a bodymechanics gift bag with some goodies⌠but that's not the REAL reward.
đThe real reward is your new movement practice and the myriad of benefits it will bring you. And you're the only one who can give that to yourself.
We look forward to seeing you in the studio more!
âChange happens through movement and movement heals.â â¨

At Bodymechanics, we believe in being unconventional, intuitive, and client obsessed. When we opened our doors in 2007, we were one of the OG Pilates studios in Portland, and since then have never shied away from blazing trails.
Today, we are happy to announce we have become part of the family. Momence is a software that is easy to use and specifically designed to help studios CONNECT with their clients, new and old. We feel empowered to have found a software as client focused as we are and we cannot wait to grow with Momence.
We know change can be challenging but we are here to help! If you are looking for assistance in navigating your account, please let us know! We will have people at the front desk ready help for the next few days and always available by email at [email protected].
So much good ahead! rose .kerri
