Designated Safer Spaces Staff Members will be present during the concert. These are student leaders who have completed SAVP's Bystander Intervention training. For reference, their names, numbers, and photos are posted below and outside the venue prior to the event. Please feel free to approach them at any point during the event if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Designated Safer Space Staff will take the appropriate steps necessary in responding to anyone who disregards our guidelines, in the interest of making sure that everyone who attends Miscellany News events feels unthreatened and empowered. Recourse will vary on a case by case basis, depending on the nature of the situation. Please talk to the Designated Safer Space Staff Members about anything that concerns you. They are here to help.

Q: What places on campus inspire your creativity?
A: I love to sit on the bench in the middle of the library lawn! I also like going off campus to the park by the Mid Hudson Bridge on the river, or the city of Kingston.

Q: What type of vibe are you hoping to bring to Misc Music Festival?
A: Bringing sad bangers, and hopefully square dancing will ensue.

Q: What are you looking forward to most about the gig?
A: I am very excited to play because I recently released my first album on Spotify so this will be my first time performing them live!

LEAP DAY 2020!! Come celebrate in the beautifully renovated SHIVA with a lineup of Vassar’s finest student artists. Bands will be playing all night, ending with DJ sets from Vassar’s own DJ Greta Gerwig.

Q: What places inspire your creativity?
A: I’ve always been really inspired by personal spaces — bedrooms, kitchens, lived-in spaces — because of how they become so imbued with meaning as we live our lives. Just imagine your childhood home, how imbalancing it would be to see some other family having moved in and filled it with their furniture and memories instead. There's something about public transport, too, that whole thing of passing contact with whole other lives you'll never know, all of us sort of tired and weary and packed into some cramped train car on our morning commutes.

Q: What type of vibe are you hoping to bring to Misc Music Festival?
A: The kind of late-night, post-midnight party where you know that, at this moment, you and I and all our friends here in this room are the only people truly awake and living in the entire world.

Q: What are you looking forward to most about the gig?
A: This will be our first time down to Vassar and we can't wait to bring you into our world, if only for a little while!
