In May we recognize Older Americans Month. This year's theme is "Powered by Connection." Our care managers are vital connections for our senior clients, serving as a reliable supporter, an experienced resource, and a caring, compassionate listener.
Last week Katie Slater, JFCS Food Program Outreach Coordinator, accepted a grant award from the Lawrence Township Community Foundation in support of our mobile food pantry distributions across their municipality. Our sincere thanks to the LTCF for remaining a committed partner in fighting hunger in their community.
Lawrence is just one community that our mobile pantry supports on a monthly basis. We maintain 25 monthly distributions across 8 of the 12 municipalities of Mercer!
The month of April was filled with food & product drives across the community in support of JFCS pantry clients. From personal hygiene products, to cereal, to canned foods, and more, each and every contribution makes a difference in the lives of those we serve. We thank every community member who made a donation to a local drive OR from our Amazon Wishlist. You are making the difference, you are nourishing your neighbors!

In May we recognize Older Americans Month. This year's theme is "Powered by Connection" recognizing the impact of relationships and social connections as we age. Our Kosher Cafe is an incredible example of this - where seniors are welcomed to gather for a hot lunch 4 days a week, every week. The friendships forged at the cafe give the guests a true sense of belonging.
Today, we remember. Never forget, never again.
One our geriatric care managers, Andrea Gaynor, LCSW, will be presenting an informative & important program on "Seven Important Documents for Seniors" next Tues, May 7 at Center for Modern Aging Princeton. Find the registration link in their post below to sign up!

Our partners at The Munshine Group, LLC are shining a light on volunteering in honor of National Volunteer Week and highlighting some of our very own JFCS volunteers!
At JFCS, volunteers are part of the team; without them many programs would be unsustainable. We thank each and every community member who has volunteered with us, YOU are making a difference right here in your neighborhood.
National Volunteer Week Turns 50 T.S. Eliot famously wrote "April is the cruellest month," but we know that in many ways April is actually the opposite, because it's when we celebrate one of the kindest and most generous things anyone can do -- volunteer. Over the last couple of years, through some of the worst of the
