We recently joined The Nature Conservancy in Rhode Island and the Providence Parks Department for a visit to Providence's Mashapaug Pond in Rogers Williams Park. The pond experiences high phosphorus levels from increased flooding and increased heat due to climate change. We've provided the City of Providence with over $1.6 million in loans and Municipal Resilience Program action grants to develop and implement innovative stormwater management methods, including a "treatment train," to improve water quality in Roger Williams Park ponds. Solutions that were identified through our Municipal Resilience Program workshop process, hosted in partnership with the Nature Conservancy.

This morning we joined with Governor Dan McKee and the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources at the home of Cumberland resident and EV owner Peter Viner-Brown to launch the PowerUpRI EV charger rebate program.
PowerUpRI provides financial incentives for eligible EV chargers and any necessary electrical upgrades. The program covers up to $700 or 50 percent of the purchase and installation costs of a Level 2 residential EV charger, whichever is less, if electrical upgrades are required. We wrapped up a great Infrastructure Week with a visit to the Watchemoket Square District in the City of East Providence - Office of the Mayor, where a $200,000 Municipal Infrastructure Grant Program award is allowing the city to build a new parking lot to support the district's growth.
Yesterday afternoon we had the opportunity to tour the Narragansett Bay Commission's Combined Sewer Overflow Phase III construction site as part of Infrastructure Week. CSO Phase III is a 2.2-mile long, 30-foot diameter tunnel running underneath Pawtucket and Central Falls that is expected to reduce overflow volumes by 98% and treat stormwater before it flows into Narragansett Bay.
Over the last 32 years, Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank has provided more than $900 million in Clean Water State Revolving Fund financing for Narragansett Bay Commission infrastructure investments, including the completion of Phase I and Phase II of the CSO project, diverting more than 1 billion gallons of combined water and wastewater that would have otherwise gone straight into Narragansett Bay, and is now treated at their Field's Point Wastewater Treatment Facility. The project has helped to dramatically improve the health of Narragansett Bay.
As part of Infrastructure Week, today we had the opportunity to tour the East Greenwich Wastewater Treatment Facility. Thanks to low-cost financing from our Clean Water State Revolving Fund, the plant has invested in resilience improvements and treatment process upgrades. Over the past 20 years, we're proud to have helped the Town of East Greenwich RI invest in their critical infrastructure by providing more than $50 million in loans and grants for clean water, road work, and municipal resilience projects.
During Infrastructure Week 2024 we're highlighting our work helping RI's cities and towns invest in their critical infrastructure assets. Since our inception, we've financed over $1.75 billion in clean water projects, $750 million in drinking water projects, and nearly $16 million in municipal resilience projects across Rhode Island.
May 13-17 is Infrastructure Week 2024 and an opportunity to highlight the need to invest in Rhode Island and our nation's critical infrastructure. All this week we'll be touring projects across the state to spotlight how clean water, drinking water, road and bridge, clean energy, and municipal resilience infrastructure investments are making a big difference for our communities, environment, and economy.
