Looking to improve math, science, and ELA scores? Looking to sustain or develop post-ESSER summer learning programming? Are you hosting an Algebra 1 Readiness Camp? Would you like students to complete CTE credentials or explore careers? Do your students participate in enrichment courses within the All-Course Network? “Launching a quality summer learning program is akin to launching the school year, only with less time for planning and execution.” (Getting to Work on Summer Learning, Schwartz, 2018) Get a head start! Join RIDE for a summer learning planning day. With guidance from the District Summer Learning Network, participants will receive sustainability tools and road maps to begin the summer learning planning for Summer of 2025. LEAs are encouraged to bring a team of participants including district and school leaders, school counselors, content and curriculum coaches, school committee members, community-based organizations, and municipality partners

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is hosting the 2024-2025 Back-to-School Initiative webcast. Stakeholder Partnerships, Education and Communications (SPEC) will provide information to help parents of young children and college students understand the tax credits (Child Tax Credit, Additional Child Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit, etc.) and benefits they may be eligible to claim when they file a tax return. They will also raise awareness of free tax preparation available at Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) sites.
