Fun weekend ahead for me in San Diego!

I’m lucky to be a part of the cutting edge in cosmetics & get the opportunity to learn & teaching with laser experts from around the country while I’m here at the Alma Academy Forum. ⁣

Continuing education will always be important to me & I love bringing back the knowledge I’ve accrued to my patients.

Filler doesn’t have to look unnatural.⁣

Most first-time patients are super hesitant about filler because they don’t want to look fake & unnatural.⁣

Fillers today are designed to be more like the natural hyaluronic acid that’s already in your skin so they can adapt seamlessly to your dynamic expression for a look that is beautiful at rest & in motion— but that is all dependent on the person doing the injecting so here are some things to consider when choosing your injector:⁣

»Know their credentials- Are they a registered nurse, physicians assistant, dermatologist, plastic surgeon, etc? This will give you better idea of their background & education—do they have years of training behind the syringe or a weekend course? ⁣

»What is their experience, with fillers? Do they have adequate training to ensure safety & great patient outcomes—Do they have advanced training & extensive experience in fillers, or do they just dabble in it on the side? How long have they been in the industry? How many patients do they see daily?⁣

»Do they have the knowledge necessary to know what to do when/if something goes wrong? Do they have Hyaluronidase (a reversal agent) on hand should an undesired or harmful result occur? Do they have hospital privileges or contacts with other physicians should a worst-case scenario take place? ⁣

»Research them on social media- Do they have a display of their work? What do they look like? (if they look “overdone” and fake—run!) What is their aesthetic? Does it match yours?⁣

»Get personal referrals- Ask your friends and family who they see for their treatments. ⁣

»Test their knowledge- Question what the products they have access to, how they work, what differentiates them, why they would select the specific filler for your goals, etc.⁣

»Get a consultation- Get a better idea of what this practitioner is like in person and see if it’s a good fit!⁣

When you’ve done your homework & selected a qualified injector, they should be able to use their extensive knowledge to give you the results you want all while looking NATURAL. ⁣
