considering a career in diplomacy? Want to learn how to get started in the foreign service? Come ask all your questions to Sam Dearden, a current Foreign Service Officer at the US Embassy in Bangkok. Sam previously worked as a program management coordinator at USAID’s Foreign Disaster Assistance, and as a Food for Peace program assistant. He received a bachelors in History from BYU and an MA in modern British History from the University of Cambridge.

Our guest is Sarah McGrew, an Assistant Professor in Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership in the College of Education at the University of Maryland, College park. Previously she taught and developed curriculum for the Stanford History Education group. McGrew studies educational responses to the spread of misinformation and disinformation, focusing on how young people search for and evaluate online information on contentious topics, and how schools can better support students to learn effective evaluation strategies.
Write a 1500-1600 wd essay on your opinion on whether the Constitution can support a diverse electorate as is, or if we should make changes to the two party system. Due July 4th @ 5 PM. Winners receives a cash prize, as well as the opportunity to read their papers and receive commentary from a Wheatley Constitutional fellow.

You are invited to attend a US Naturalization Ceremony on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, from 9:00am to 10:00am in the BYU Hinckley Center Assembly Hall. This event, the first of its kind on BYU campus, is the culmination of the long journey to becoming U.S. citizens. The ceremony is a celebratory event, including speeches, music, the Oath of Allegiance, and the presentation of certificates of citizenship. This will be a very special event!
