OUR REASON

Each year at least 2.8 million Americans sustain traumatic brain injuries in the United States alone with tens of thousands sustaining a spinal cord injury. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) may result from anywhere between a simple blow to the head to a penetrating injury to the brain. There are more than 5.3 million individuals in the United States who are living with a permanent brain injury related disability. That’s one in every 60 people. In fact, traumatic injury is the leading cause of death and disability among children, teens and young adults.

Traumatic injuries are an epidemic.
Unlike most epidemics, this one can be preventable and improved upon now.

OUR MISSION

-WE AIM TO MOTIVATE & EDUCATE STUDENTS ABOUT RISKS & PREVENTION TO REDUCE CHANCES OF TRAUMATIC INJURY-

We encourage young people to recognize their personal vulnerabilities and reevaluate how important it is to make safe choices.
With our interactive educational “Slow Your Role” message, we encourage young people to recognize their personal vulnerabilities and reevaluate how important it is to make safe choices. We roll in as real life examples of how the roles you choose to play in life can impact your future forever.

Our presentations are designed to deliver fun, engaging, and meaningful messages to challenge long term changes on how you use your mind to protect your body.
We aim to motivate students to think clearly ahead of time. Simple preventative actions can greatly reduce risk for injury.

THINK FAST, THINK SMART, THINK FUTURE!

The goal of the program is to increase knowledge and awareness of the causes and risk factors of brain and spinal cord injury, use of safety habits, and injury prevention methods for all to help decrease the chances of an injury happening to you. The most frequent causes of traumatic injury are vehicle crashes, violence, falls, sports, etc. Simple actions can greatly reduce our risk for injury, such as wearing a seat belt, driving safe, sober, and without distractions as well as wearing bike and sports helmets and other precautions to keep yourself safe.

OUR VISION

The vision of The Slow Your Role Program is to leave an imprint on the mindset of our audience. A mindset that inspires them to prioritize the importance of safety roles in their every day lives to help increase their ability to lower risks for injury and disability.
We want to leave our listeners driven and dedicated to think in advance before making decisions or surpassing boundaries, whether imposed by others or on themselves, that can cause harm. We will challenge listeners to reflect on the choices they live by and how their future can look if you don’t “Slow Your Role.”

Let us help you move beyond what could possibly hold you back from greater personal freedom, independence, and success.

THE ONLY CURE IS PREVENTION!
