35 years later we are still the best! This is a page for the Broughton Sr. High Class of 1986.
All that went to school with us and graduated before us or after (83-89) please feel free to join.
This Meal Train is for my high school friend Kathie Morris Logan (Class of '86)! Please consider donating or sending a gift card to help this great lady out! She is facing a long brain surgery and recovery. Being such a strong, amazing woman and mother, I know she will kick ass! Taking some strain off for her recovery will go far!
Meal Train for Kathie Morris Logan Kathie has recently been diagnosed with a large, 5cm, acoustic neuroma, which is a benign brain tumor. She is also a single mom to a special needs teenage son. Due to the size of the tumor, her surgery is estimated to be a 12 hour procedure. The recovery is estimated to be 6-8 weeks. Having a Meal T...
Hi Everyone!
Lorrie Mizell Olexa here!
Here are the details for our 35th reunion, all low key, casual style.
I figure, we will continue to monitor Covid, but if all is well: here is the plan.
Sat, Sept 25th at 7pm.
Meet up at:
Lynnwood Brewing Concern
1053 E. Whitaker Mill Rd.
Raleigh, NC 27604
After checking out our best options to suit all, I chose LBC.
They have their sister restaurant, Wilson’s Eatery located beside the brewery. Here are the details, for food and other beverages available, than just craft beer.
Remember it’s your choice to purchase drinks or food. There is no purchase ticket to attend this low key, casual meet up for our 35th reunion.
Wilson's Eatery. You are welcome to go back and forth between the Taproom and Wilson's Eatery and Lynnwood Brewing Co. There are ordering instructions on the tables in the Taproom and they will run food over to you if you read and follow those instructions (or you will get a text saying that your food is ready for pick up). They have several wine options as well as 3 house made Seltzers and Austin East Ciders at Lynnwood Brewing Co and they also have mixed drinks/ cocktails at Wilson's and again you are welcome to go back and forth.
LBC has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I plan to have a “reunion table” in the taproom, where people can stop by, as they arrive and pick up a name tag, to help identify our party.
There should be ample parking for all.
If any new details arise, I will post.
***Now it’s up to all of you to get the word out to your friends, on and off Facebook. Share this post to your page, call, text or email those you know are not on Facebook.
Let’s celebrate 35 years!
Hope to see you there,
Lorrie Mizell Olexa
I have about 15 1986 Latipacs that I will bring to the reunion on 9/25. Let me know if you want one or grab one there!
Hi!! Admin Lorrie Mizell Olexa here! Here is the date, I’m working with for our “get together/35th reunion”.
Mark your calendar’s!! More details will continue to come! Please see previous post by me, on this page for an overview of what’s in play for our reunion. This will be a come as you are, no advance tickets, causal event! It will be just a great time to get together and celebrate 35 years!!
Hello Class of ‘86, Admin Lorrie Mizell Olexa here! This is our 35th year! My how time flies!
Thought I would check in and see if there is any interest, of trying to come together, in September??
I was thinking of something less formal. No pre-advance tickets, just a head count. How about a meet up at local brewery and a food truck? Most breweries have an outside area, as well as, indoor seating. You could then choose if you would like to purchase beverages and food, or not, at the event? Come as you are, why not have dinner and a beverage...mingle and celebrate 35 years, for the Class of ‘86?
If anyone is any interested, let me know! I would be happy to make arrangements. Maybe Saturday Sept 18 or 25th??
Please share with classmates who are not on the page!
(I have no idea what covid restrictions could be in place in September, but I do know we have more and more restrictions being lifted.)
Hope this finds you all, doing well!
Lorrie Mizell Olexa, Class of ‘86
