Inter-Faith Food Shuttle

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle envisions a hunger free community. Member of Feeding America. We believe that together we can build a hunger free community.

We feed our neighbors, teach self-sufficiency, grow healthy food, and cultivate innovative approaches to end hunger. Our programs provide our neighbors with healthy food, teach nutrition on a budget, equip them with job training, and even show how to grow their own food. In this way, people are able to move themselves out of hunger.

We had a fantastic time at NC Pre-K's "KICK OFF TO PRE-K" Application Event and Resource Fair this past Saturday! 🎉 It's always a fun and delicious time when our very own food truck, The Spinning Plate, is present. Thanks to Wake County Smart Start for hosting and to everyone who came out! We were especially delighted to meet Gayle Headen, President of Wake County Smart Start, during the event.

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is a bridge between food sources (like grocery stores and retailers) and the community. We rescue and distribute food to Agency Partners who operate food pantries and mobile markets. Visit our Food Finder page for information on dates and times for these pantries and mobile markets.

We extend our gratitude to the Burt's Bees Foundation for awarding us the 2023 Food Access and Nutrition Grant! Over the past year, this funding has made a significant impact at the Food Shuttle's Geer Street Learning Garden by enabling several major upgrades around the Garden. With their support and the hard work of our volunteer community, Geer Street Learning Garden installed new covers and hoops for season extension and pest control for our crops, replaced a rainwater catchment cistern that was damaged beyond repair, built a new deck that increases accessibility and functionality of the Garden, and completed a stormwater management project with native plants to reduce erosion and attract beneficial species. The remaining grant funds will be put toward revitalizing our educational signage around the Garden with info about rainwater harvesting, erosion control, and pollinator gardens! We are grateful for partners like the Burt's Bees Foundation for making impactful projects like this possible!
