ABOUT OUR LAVENDER...
And our lavender's "dad"
Finding ourselves with eight unused acres running along the entire South pasture line of the Oasis Camel Dairy; it didn't take Gil, our founding farmer, long to call "dibs".
With a little help from a long-time ranch friend, Gil plowed, irrigated and planted over
three thousand lavender plants by hand.
Envisioning the lavender field of his dreams, Camel Valley Lavender does so much more than providing essential oil for our Rare Milk Camel Milk Soap. It is a wine country oasis destination for visitors immersing them in nature, pastoral views of our grazing camels and breathtaking mountain vistas.
Giving guests more than just a look at those popular purple flowers that smell good, Camel Valley Lavender is an outdoor classroom where guests learn about the origins of lavender farming, the different kinds of lavender and their uses and what makes happy lavender grow.
Invigorating as it is relaxing, our lavender fields featuring over 3000 lavender plants of five different varieties. From bouquet, culinary, ornamental and essential oil varieties.
