What does a doula do?

As a Doula, it is NOT my job;
-to give medical advice
-to make medical decisions
-to replace your birthing partner

It IS my job;
-to help you make informed decisions
-to empower you to believe in your body
-to help your birthing partner know what's helps and what doesn't
-to help you be comfortable with your birthing experience, whatever that looks like!

How often should a birthing class meet?

What would be more helpful;
a five meeting course spread over 2 months that covers all things birth and postpartum
or two sperate courses each lasting one month for birth and postpartum?

I am working on my certification births, so if you know anyone who is pregnant or in need of support let them know I will be volunteering my services for those 3 certifying births!
