Giant American Flag-Enterprise Lions Club
The Giant American Flag was dedicated on the one year anniversary of 9-11. It is here to honor all those who give service.
These are all persons who put themselves in harms way for the good of others, the community or country. Constructed by the Lions of the Enterprise Club and supported by the community.

HALF-STAFF ALERT, NATIONAL PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL DAY
I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 15, 2024, as Peace Officers Memorial Day and May 12 through May 18, 2024, as Police Week. I call upon all Americans to observe these events with appropriate ceremonies and activities and salute our Nation’s brave law enforcement officers and remember their peace officer brothers and sisters who have given their last full measure of devotion in the line of duty. I also call on the Governors of the United States and its Territories, and appropriate officials of all units of government, to direct that the flag be flown at half-staff on Peace Officers Memorial Day. I further encourage all Americans to display the flag at half-staff from their homes and businesses on that day.
The flag we took down 10 days ago set a record for the longest ever time flying without repair at 5 months and 15 days.

HALF-STAFF ALERT, PEARL HARBOR REMEMBRANCE DAY
The Enterprise Lions ceremoniously retired 4 Giant American Flags and about 50 smaller flags at an agricultural burn in Tehama County on Saturday. The fire was so hot it only took about 10 minutes for the flags to be totally consumed. Lions Roger Plato and Mike Ferrier are both Eagle Scouts and have been doing these retirements for over 50 years.

HALF-STAFF ALERT
We often are asked how our flags are retired. The American Legion Post 197 with support from Enterprise Lions Club held a Flag Retirement Ceremony today. Somewhere around 800 flags of all sizes came to their appropriate end of life. Included was one of our Giant Flags. American Flags are to be ceremoniously burned or buried.
