As you encounter door-to-door solicitors this summer, don't be afraid to ask to see their Solicitor's License. If they do not have one and/or they seem suspicious, call 911. Be sure to get a description of the person and direction of travel. If a vehicle is involved, try to obtain the plate number as well as the make/model.
All door-to-door solicitors and canvassers MUST apply and register with the City of Richfield. They must have and display a badge issued by the city. The organization must be registered with the city along with EACH individual solicitor so that criminal history checks may be conducted.
The Urban Wildland Half Marathon & 5K will be held this Saturday, July 27. Spots are still available and registration will remain open online until race morning (find the link at urbanwildland.com).
Take a run through Richfield's shaded residential streets, neighborhood parks, and natural areas while supporting Wood Lake Nature Center's environmental education partnership with the Richfield Public Schools, a partnership of 53 years (those who grew up in Richfield probably remember visiting Wood Lake with your science class).
The Urban Wildland, now in its 22nd year, starts and ends by the Richfield Ice Arena at 7:00 am (HM) and 7:30 am (5K). Finishers receive a wood, maple-leaf-shaped medallion as they cross the finish line; top finishers in each age/gender category receive an enscribed wooden tree award.
Sign up to run or come out and support the runners along the course (maps attached). For more information and the link to register, visit www.urbanwildland.com.
Summer is here, and that means lots of family and community gatherings! The Richfield Business Licensing team wants everyone to keep in mind that any event *open to the public* where you are giving away or selling food MUST include a temporary food license. Nothing spoils a summer day like having to go home early because of an upset stomach – you don’t want that for your family or your business.
Apply for the temporary food license online at:

The 63-year-old Richfield Community Center building (7000 Nicollet Ave) no longer has the space or updated resources to support the community’s growing needs.
Part of the Our Legacy, Our Future investment plan proposes replacing the existing community center building with a new, larger facility. This facility will contain modernized space that allows for more programs, community-building and amenities to help all members of our community achieve health and wellness.
Want the details? Visit OurLegacyOurFuture.org/Plan for more info.
Work begins today (7/11) on the replacement of the play equipment at Fairwood Park (67th and Logan Ave). Crews from Northland Recreation will be removing the old equipment this week. The new equipment is scheduled to ship out next week, with installation to begin immediately after it arrives.
Richfield Recreation welcomes Minnesota Parent and Gillette Children’s to the Augsburg Adventure Park on Friday, July 12, 9:00 am, for a session of their Summer Playdate Series. The event is a great chance to engage with families in the community, enjoy summer fun & learn about inclusive play. Come socialize, exercise, and soak up the sun! All are welcome.
Jonny Pops will be handing out frozen treats to all. The first 25 families will also receive a summer goodie bag full of fun! The Augsburg Adventure Park is located next to the Richfield Community Center at 7000 Nicollet Avenue.
It’s come to our attention that a company is leaving misleading door tags around Richfield. These are NOT communications from the city, and residents are encouraged to ignore them.

Update (7/4, 4:50 pm): The Richfield Pool will be closed for the rest of today and the Ice Arena will close at 6:00 pm.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of all events planned for this evening. This includes Family Bazaar, Bounce Houses, DJs, Food Vendors, Beer Garden, and FIREWORKS.
The 4th of July committee met with the city and the Richfield PD to discuss the weather. They needed to make a decision before 4pm due to road closures.
The main concern, as it always is, is the safety of Richfield residents. If something happened, there isn't space for you to shelter safely at Vet's Park.
This means that there WILL BE NO fireworks this year. The planning that has to be done with the city, the county, and vendors takes WEEKS. What this WILL mean is that we WILL have fireworks next year for sure.
We are GUTTED with this decision, but it's been a helluva day and a half, Richfield!
We got our Battle of the Band, we got our Street Dance, our flyover and 2/3 of our parade. That's more than a lot of cities got. Thank you SO SO MUCH for sticking with us and helping us celebrate how awesome Richfield is. After all the hard work, seeing the joy on your faces was all we could ask for.
Better believe that we'll be back again next year, Richfield! I mean, we owe you fireworks, right? It's a date.
City buildings will be closed on July 4 and 5, in observance of the 4th of July.
Look for our staff at the parade and family bazar! And of course our PD🚓, FD 🚒 and water plant 💧 employees are on-duty, 24/7.
Wishing Richfield a safe and happy holiday!

CLUE #1
Once again in ’24, the prize is out and hiding.
A clue a day will come your way and hints we’ll be providing.
The coveted medallion’s parked on land, but deftly hidden.
And digging, swimming, climbing, breaking all are straight forbidden.

The clues will be posted on the pages of the City of Richfield and The Schneeberger Group, Keller Williams Realty. The first clue will be posted on Saturday, June 29 at 9:00am. If the medallion is not found, the second clue will be posted on Sunday, June 30 at 9:00am. Upon finding the medallion, the winner must call or text the sponsor at 612-581-7313 within 24 hours of finding it. Once the winner has been verified, a Facebook post will announce that the medallion has been found.

The medallion is hidden outdoors on public property somewhere in the city of Richfield. The medallion will be hidden above ground and in a place no higher than six feet off the ground. No climbing, scaling or digging will be required. It will not be necessary to bend or destroy vegetation to find the medallion. The medallion will not be hidden within 10 feet of any body of water.
