3 kids back into school today!!!
Their favorite class is "MATH" and I bet it was your favorite class in school also!
They are grateful for the privilege of going to school in "New clothes". I think a uniform is clothes. Ha!
Thanks for all that you have done for the kids at Siempre Para Los Ninos .
Two new teen age girls will be coming tomorrow. They are sisters.
Be praying for them as they come to siempre as we open the doors, our hearts and our lives for these two new kids.

Missed the high school kids they leave for school at 6:20am. School stats at 7am. The class the kids at Siempre Para Los Ninos like is math. I asked why??? Ha!

Me and Tricia had the privilege of having two kids to get ready for that experience each morning of a thing called School.
On some days it was easy other times it was something you just wanted to run away from, go to work, get out of the house or just give up on.
I am getting ready for that experience at Siempre Par Los Nios this morning but with 27 people, adults, kids and one hurt little dog they are in the process of healing and finding a home. An orphan dog! That is other story.
Wish me luck! I am ready with a good Denny's meal and second cup of coffee!

Thanksgiving Day, 1988 to Thanksgiving Day, 2024 – 13,155 days – 37 Thanksgiving’s separated by 13,155 days.

The world has been through historic transformation.

Globally: The Fall of the Berlin Wall, The Velvet Revolution, failure of Communism and The Soviet Union, the end of Apartheid, September 11… and so much more…

We’ve been through 2 extreme collapses in the housing market that brought on worldwide financial crises… the Pandemic… Loma Prieta and Lander’s Earthquakes. Indian Ocean and Asian Earthquakes followed by their devastating tsunami’s that took the lives of hundreds of thousands. Wildfires here in California and around the world and war’s that just don’t seem to stop… breaking out like wildfire.

The Los Angeles Riots, the rise of homelessness, conflicts over immigration… and the tech boom, explosion of the internet, smart phones and smart watches that know when we fall down and text for help via satellites… in space…and Barry Bonds, of Riverside, California, broke both the one season and all-time home run records while Kawhi Leonard, from our neighborhood, won NBA Championships in both leagues, along with Finals MVP awards with multiple teams, joining only LaBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

President Obama became our nations first black president. Something no one would’ve considered back in 1988.

And I retired.

Central Community’s, Community Wide, FREE Thanksgiving Dinner has been there through it all, along with so many other personal moments of triumph, tragedy and the turns that every life takes, and it continues as plans are already underway.

Someone sent Pastor Ken a loving video of Thanksgiving at Central Community, 2023, watching it, seeing myself now, as a mature adult, and reflecting on these many years of serving together, through so many changing times – so often the very best of times – I remembered that it happens just one year at a time.

This year. Don’t let another 13,155 days and all the moments of history slip away without cooking a turkey, sharing yourself, serving. Begin planning today.

We taught some kids years ago to build a house and now they are building HOMES!

In Eric old office this afternoon, I will meet with a family that has lost their mother. The service will be on Saturday evening for Lydia Caro
She had come to Central Community and was involved in JFJ for a few years

they gather knowing she is with the Lord
