Check us out in the news! We've been off to a great start over the past month, and we're thrilled to have provided much-needed care to Ella and many other pets in the area.
As Dr. Buck notes in the article, we're already at capacity most nights, so we're hard at work to get more doctors on board and to find a larger, more permanent facility. As always, you can donate to us via our website, www.RocEmergencyVet.com ๐พ
Rochester emergency vet providing lifesaving care one month after grand opening It has been just over a month since the only emergency vet in the area offering overnight care opened in Rochester, and it's already making a big difference.
We are officially a 501(c)(3) designated charity organization!! Donations made to REVS are officially tax deductible, and donations made previously may retroactively be tax deductible. Find more information on our website:
501(c)(3) Designation Approval We are happy to announce that we have been approved as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization!
Since we opened last Thursday, we've been able to help over 180 pets!!
Thank you to the community (and our rockstar staff!) for patience with us this past week as we got into our rhythm. We're thrilled that we've already made such a big impact, and we're excited to see that number keep growing ๐พ
TODAY'S THE DAY!!!!
We are as excited as you are! We open at 7 PM tonight for our first overnight shift! It's going to be overwhelming, wonderful, and a little scary! We want to give everyone a couple of reminders to make sure every pet has the smoothest journey with us:
1) We are a lot smaller than VSES was, and smaller than most of the other emergency facilities in the surrounding areas. We will not have the capacity to see every pet. Like a human ER, we will need to prioritize the most critical cases. You may get redirected to another emergency facility. That brings us to:
2) Please call ahead if possible. We can help you assess your pet's situation and determine if we have the capacity to provide the care they might need. We can also collect your information and begin to check your pet in, making it easier for you when you arrive.
3) We will be open for emergencies NIGHTS and WEEKENDS only. The wonderful Animal Hospital of Rochester is providing us with a space to work, but they are maintaining their general practice in the space during the day. Animal Hospital of Rochester is a separate organization, and is not taking emergency patients during their hours.
4) Our staff truly cares about the pets we treat and the Rochester Community. Emergency care is stressful for everyone involved. Please treat our staff with kindness and respect, especially as we get through the hiccups to get the hospital up and running. We promise to treat you and your pets with compassion and the best care we can provide ๐พ
Our phone number is:
585-775-0020
All of our contact information will be updated in our profile here and our website by the time we open this evening! Thank you for all of the community support that has allowed us to open today. We can't wait to start giving back to everyone that's helped us on this journey!!!
(We were going to share a picture of the hospital, but our sign isnโt up quite yet, so instead please enjoy this picture of Dr. Ingersollโs puppy, Anvil)
We're just a couple weeks from opening our doors on February 1st! We've been busy getting everything ready and we can't wait to start serving the community ๐พ
As always, you can make donations to us on our website, https://rocemergencyvet.com Every donation is appreciated and will help us provide better care!
The REVS Team wants to wish everyone a Safe and Happy New Year weekend! We can't wait for 2024!!
And if you need to make any last minute 2023 donations don't forget to stop by our website before the new year ๐
Rochester Emergency Veterinary Services Together with our Rochester Community, we better the lives of animals through life-saving care and we better the lives of our veterinary community by prioritizing our people.
We are proud to announce that we have been awarded $100,000 in funding through Monroe County's COMIDA program to help us purchase equipment needed to open our Emergency Hospital.
Keep an eye out for our Board of Directors on the local news today! Dr. Ingersoll spoke about our fundraising efforts, current timeline, and work with our local government and officials to help us bring the best care possible to Rochester.
We have linked a few of the articles/video segments on a post on our website in case you don't have a chance to watch the news live tonight!
COMIDA Funding Award We are honored to announce that we will be the recipient of $100,000 in funding for the purchase of necessary hospital equipment through Monroe County's COMIDA Assistance program.
We have listened to the feedback we've been seeing about our new logo and have added a distinct break to the EKG line so that it doesn't look like a flatline; it was always intended to just be an underline to help balance the logo. As always, we appreciate our community's passion for REVS ๐พ
๐๐จ The moment everyone has been waiting for is here! ๐จ๐

Today is a sad and scary day for our Rochester community. As you may have seen, today, the only emergency veterinary hospital, VSES, closed their doors for good. We understand the uncertainty that Rochesterโs pet community is facing right now and want to reassure you that emergency care will once again be available in our community. In a short few months we will be opening our hospital, Rochester Emergency Veterinary Services. Keep an eye on our website for updates and fundraising information!
To the staff of VSES (managers, technicians, customer services reps, assistants, doctors, cleaners and any others), we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the years of service, dedication, and love you have given to Rochester and all its pets! Please reach out to us if there is anyway we can assist you. Additionally we're looking to fill job vacancies throughout the hospital. So, if we already know you say hi again, if we've never met, reach out and introduce yourself. Let's keep moving forward to get REVS up and running asap.

Even while we enjoy stuffing ourselves with food and enjoying family on this day, know that your REVS team is still working hard to get emergency care up and running. The support of our community is making this possible, so THANK YOU and Happy Thanksgiving!
Okay REVS fans, we need your help. It's time to design a logo and who better to help than all of you, so get your creative juices flowing! We've decided to make this a competition. On top of bragging rights and being immortalized within the REVS community, you will win a $100 gift card!
