We are excited to announce that free hair trimming services will be available 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Lodge, located at 2897 Sturgis Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29730, in the large conference room. This service is exclusively for students and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please make sure your child's hair is combed beforehand to speed up the process. Only trims will be provided, and no styling services will be offered.

In partnership with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the Catawba Nation Wellness Department is hosting a Hunter Safety Education Class in the Round Room at the Longhouse. This is a free, eight-hour, instructor-led classroom course, which concludes with a test to pass the course. The South Carolina Hunter Education Class is recommended for students aged 12 and above, who possess good reading and comprehension skills, and have some firearm and hunting knowledge or experience. SCDNR does not discourage any age from attending the class, however, only children aged 10 and above may take the final exam. Expanding SC Medicaid could bring in billions to the state. Gov. McMaster doesn't want to study it. A new analysis shows 350,000 SC people would get covered under Medicaid expansion and billions of dollars would flow in. The governor is still not convinced.
This week, two Catawba Citizens celebrated significant milestones in their recovery. One celebrated 6 months of continuous sobriety, stating it was their longest period of sobriety since the age of 15. Another celebrated 115 days being alcohol free. Let's show them some love!

The Catawba Nation Wellness Department and the Catawba Nation Seniors are partnering to establish the WELL (Wise Elders Living Longer) Balanced program at the Catawba Nation. This program will be six weeks long with classes taking place twice a week starting in the Fall of 2024. We will work in a group to improve physical strength, social activity, level of regular exercise, and ability to prevent falls.
