The first step is to determine how much income the family needs pre month to cover living expenses.
Then multiply that amount by 12. If family expenses per year is $50,000. Then multiplying by 12 equals $600,000. That amount of cash can be invested at 8.5% and would yield $51,000/yearly.
Add to that $600,000. The payoff for a mortgage [Say $250,000.] and Future Educational needs of $200,000 and the amount of life insurance is: $1,500,000.
