Dear Library Supporter:

As with last year, there is proposed Louisiana legislation that has been filed that could impact public operation across the State. The Lincoln Parish Library board asks for your support and aid in letting our representatives know that we do not approve of these measures as currently written. Links to all of these bills are provided at the end of this post.

The Google Drive link at the last bullet point below includes:

●The Board’s analysis of the House Bills 414 and 640. They explain the impact of each bill and any possible amendments that would make each bill more suitable.
●A sample letter that you can send to our Lincoln Parish representatives. Please feel free to adapt it for your use, especially in terms of how this legislation affects your library use.
●A list of Lincoln Parish Legislators with their contact information which includes email addresses.

We love you, Ruston!

The Ruston Lincoln Convention & Visitors Bureau firmly believes that a strong community creates a strong destination. In Lincoln Parish, we are fortunate to have several community resources that enhance the local quality of life, including robust K-12 programs, a variety of civic organizations, two nationally recognized universities, and a library with extensive programming.

The Lincoln Parish Library not only serves as a hub for education, but it is a cornerstone of the community, providing access to resources for all residents. We are proud to call the library a partner in tourism and community development, and we place our support behind this irreplaceable community asset.

We encourage Lincoln Parish residents to exercise their right to vote on the upcoming library millage on November 13. Early voting is currently taking place through November 6.
