A Day of Firsts
We had a wedding, today, at our facility! This was definitely a “First” for us!
One of our residents expressed his wish to marry his longtime companion. He asked if there was any way that we could help make this happen…of course! We were so blessed to be able to participate in this wonderful couple’s wedding day. The staff went above and beyond for this event. So grateful for them, and their kind hearts.
Congratulations to the new couple!
Having a little fun with our residents today. The face paint artist that visited was phenomenal! I loved seeing, and feeling, the difference that these events can have on a building. Let the holiday season begin! :)
Another super awesome event put on by the activities department and kitchen. You gotta love a little Hot August Nights!
Thanks again to the Historic Auto Museum in Sacramento for helping the facility make this happen for the residents!
When your activities department asks if they can cook “a little something” the following day for the facility. The answer is always YES!
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
What an amazing day! We spent some time spoiling the staff and having fun with the residents. Every single day things are getting back to normal. So awesome!
It was just awesome seeing the residents planting our garden, socializing and enjoying themselves. I literally love everything about the excitement and happiness that I saw today.
So blessed and incredibly thankful for an activities department that puts so much time and effort into working with our residents. Hopefully a small gift, a fresh rose and some smiles will help bring some extra joy to our facility today.
Cool weather and some entertainment put together by our fantastic activities department was a much needed break for the residents. 🙂
We are spending a little extra time this week to show our appreciation for our staff, especially for all of the members of our nursing team.
Wednesday’s treat...a ridiculously awesome ice cream bar served by several members of our fantastic management team!
One thing that COVID-19 has taught us at our building is that some of our residents are master gardeners! We have peppers, tomatoes, squash, etc.!

Nothing about the last few months has been easy, for anyone. Families have been separated from loved ones due to this virus and exactly when things may settle down is still unsure. This photo was taken recently during an activity set up by our amazing Activities Department. The photo has quite the message. First, the two empty chairs are a reminder of the current environment, and that families have not been able to visit their loved ones in months This has been difficult for the residents in the building, and for their loved ones outside. Second, the audience to the music being played is alone, but still happy. Just as the resident is doing in this photo, if we can take a moment, stop, look, and listen there truly is peace all around us. Just a small reminder that joy is still out there and focusing on the good can bring us all together.
Thank you for trusting us with the care of your loved ones. We have an incredible staff that cares and is working hard to help in an incredibly difficult time. We will keep finding ways to bring doses of joy and happiness to the residents, to your loved ones, and we hope to be able to see you all soon!
"This year, while it is more important than ever to celebrate NSNCW and recognize the staff and residents in our skilled nursing care centers across the nation, it is a challenge to figure out how best to do so. Current social distancing rules and the inability of friends and family to enter the buildings has changed much of the day to day life of the staff and the residents, and no one knows how long this is going to continue. One thing is certain, though, and that is that staff are playing a critical role in caring for residents and saving lives, and that deserves to be honored and celebrated." - American Health Care Association
We are so thankful for our nurses at Double Tree Post Acute! The self-less care that they offer our residents does not go unnoticed. May 6 - May 12 is nurses appreciation week! Make sure to show your appreciation for our Nurses!
Thanks to our amazing activities department we all had a great time enjoying fantastic weather, eating delicious tacos, and spending time together to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!
