As we celebrate this vibrant and empowering month, let’s remember the importance of mental health and well-being for our LGBTQ+ community. Pride is not just about celebrating who we are, but also about acknowledging the journey, challenges and triumphs that come with it.

As temperatures are on the rise, it's important to have a cool place to escape the heat. United Way of Greater St. Joseph has compiled a list of cooling centers available around town for anyone in need.

Remember, these centers are here to provide relief from the heat and are free to the public. Stay hydrated, wear light clothing and check on your neighbors, especially the elderly and those with young children.❄️💙

A special thanks to Ricky Dean’s - St. Joseph, MO Saint Joseph, Missouri Fire Department Saint Joseph, Missouri Police Department Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph and St. Joseph Animal Shelter Evolve Studio all the community resources and our amazing volunteers.

Spreading mental health awareness is crucial, and events like these highlight the importance of our community coming together to support one another. St. Joseph offers a wide range of resources to assist those in need, and we are incredibly grateful for the community’s participation and enthusiasm in raising awareness for such an important cause! 🙏💚

Tonight, we will proudly host Mental Health Awareness Night from 5:30-7:30pm with the Family Guidance Center. Stop by RDs this evening for this fun and FREE, all ages, event!

Last week, the Youth Behavioral Health Liaisons (YBHL) and their supervisors held their quarterly meeting. Teagan Teasley from Compass Health Network presented on working with LGBTQIA+ youth, and Melody Boling from Missouri Department of Mental Health presented about early childhood services. We appreciate the vital work of the YBHLs, who connect children, youth, and families to critical mental health services and other resources to build strong families!
