We're so grateful that some of our staff members were able to spend time connecting with Girls on the Run councils from around the country at the Girls on the Run Summit! We shared best practices, learned from each other and heard from thought leaders in our work. It was a memorable and inspiring week - highlights included receiving a Pacesetter Award, going on a group run/walk to the sphere, and having countless conversations about ways we can deepen our program impact across Minnesota. We're excited to put our learnings into action in the year ahead!
Just like the Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole season culminates in a joyful 5K celebration, our one-week Camp GOTR program culminates in a gallery walk. Over the course of the week, each participant attends various workshops (Storytelling, Arts & Crafts, Building) where they flex their creative muscles building projects around the week's theme, emotions. During the gallery walk, participants admire one another's projects and leave meaningful comments. At the end of the day, every camper takes their projects home to share with their family! Today, the GOTR community remembers Brittany Boegel. Brittany would have been 38 today. She was a beloved GOTR coach, teacher and friend, and fully carried out our GOTR values daily. She was optimistic, inclusive, committed, and supportive. Brittany was a person who showed up, and her family is honoring her life and legacy with this generous matching gift, inviting the rest of us to show up how we can. Through the end of June, her family invites you to honor the memory of Brittany by celebrating the power of girls. Give a gift to Girls on the Run Minnesota today and the Boegels will match it.
