PPA is so incredibly, eternally grateful to the folks who pulled up to the Community Free Store on Sunday. It was beautiful, so much solidarity in the air 😍💚 Big big shout out to for bringing these vital essentials to distribute! Spirits were high, many needs were met, & great connections were made.
Having community support really makes it so much easier to adequately address our patron’s individual needs, such as wound care & medication assistance. Thank you all so much for everything. The power of the people don’t stop 💚💚💚

🍊Attention Floridians!!🍊If you signed a petition to get abortion rights on the ballot in November & are in Hillsborough, Broward, Orange, Alachua, or Osceola County, you could have police showing up at your home in the next couple weeks to verify your signature on the petition. This theoretically should not result in any sort of (additional)harassment or arrest, but we know how the police are, so please be aware & be careful if this is you 💚
If you have a dog in your home, make sure to put them in a secure room or somewhere else away from the sight of police if they do show up at your door. It’s estimated that 25-30 family dogs are murdered every day by police in the US, and it became such a prevalent issue that the Department of Justice declared it an “epidemic” in 2018. This number is likely a large underestimate due to the fact that there is no standard procedure for police departments to report the murder of family pets.

🗣️ CALL TO ACTION FOR PALESTINE IN HILLSBOROUGH🚨

⁉️DId you know? The Hillsborough County Commission is currently planning on investing $100,000 of our taxpayer dollars into the Florida Israel Business Accelerator (FIBA)

💢 What is FIBA? FIBA is a business accelerator that according to their own website, “help best in breed Israeli startups scale and reach their full growth potential in the United States.”

This comes at a time when many businesses in Hillsborough County are closing their doors, unable to recover from the trying economic times. In addition, Hillsborough County has also cut investments into important life-saving services, such as HOPE, an organization focused on housing equity—all of this while we are experiencing one of the worst housing crisis’ in decades.

Instead of supporting foreign businesses, our tax dollars should go straight to our community—funding housing, health care, more funding for head start, and alleviating poverty. Make your voice heard by making public comment!

🚨 URGENT AID REQUEST 🚨

Aboud is an 18-year-old Palestinian engineering student who has been displaced due to the constant bombardment on the Gaza Strip. To resume his higher education, he needs our help to safely evacuate from Gaza, where there are now no universities left standing.

At this moment, Aboud and his family are sheltering in a tent. They lack adequate food, water, resources, and medicine to get by. Aboud and his family need as much help as possible now to acquire basic resources and the necessary funds to help him reach a safe place where he can grow in his education in peace.

Fred Hampton, born in 1948 in Summit, Illinois, was a revolutionary Marxist activist who dedicated his life to the movements for black liberation, international proletarian socialism, and against capitalism & imperialism. He is most commonly known for his role in the Black Panther Party. He joined in 1968 at only 20 y/o and founded their Illinois chapter alongside Bobby Rush, where he served as Deputy Chairman until his murder by the FBI in 1969.
One of his most remarkable accomplishments was the founding of the Rainbow Coalition, a movement that bridged the gap between different cultural groups to fight against racism and classism. It was founded with the Young Lords, a group that started as a Puerto Rican street gang to defend their communities against white extremists & then later grew into a revolutionary socialist organization, as well as the Young Patriots Organization, a left-leaning group comprised mostly of poor white southerners who used the confederate flag as a symbol.
The Rainbow Coalition was the U.S. government’s worst fear come true, and was seen by them as an immense threat. Throughout 1968 and ‘69, they infiltrated both the Rainbow Coalition and the BPP, taking illegal actions to provoke violence and conflict amongst members that resulted in multiple deaths.
On December 4th, 1969, an FBI infiltrator secretly drugged Fred Hampton with a sedative so that 3 hours later police could storm his home and murder him in his sleep next to his 9-month pregnant wife. Despite only one shot being fired at police after they had already begun shooting at the sleeping residents, the police fired over 90 shots at Black Panther Party members and their families.

V important! Today in St. Louis, a hearing to review evidence that proves Marcellus “Khaliifah” Williams did not commit the murder he’s been convicted of & sentenced to ex*****on for is taking place. Let’s blow up Governer Parson & make sure there’s no way they can sweep this under the rug. did an excellent interview with an organizer working to free Khaliifah that we definitely recommend listening to for more info. This case is such a horrific abuse of power by the state & really shows how the carceral system views human rights as an obstacle to fulfilling their agenda. We are just numbers to them, & only we can keep us safe.

Don’t forget that this Saturday 8/24 at 6pm is the PPA Interest Meeting! We are very excited to meet some new comrades & dive a little deeper into the work we do with y’all. Very important announcement from PPA! We will be hosting an official interest meeting on Saturday 8/24 open to anyone who’d like to get involved in PPA or just learn more about the work we do. Between our mutual aid, harm reduction program, political education, protesting, & direct action, there is plenty of engaging & rewarding work to be done. You do not have to feel helpless in the face of all that is deeply wrong in this world. We were truly never meant to go through so much alone 💚 We hope to see you there!
Interested in helping out but don’t have the capacity to make that commitment? Here are some other things you can do to support PPA-
•Share our content! Mutual aid requires mutual participation, & the farther our reach, the more participation we get.
•Help us find a donation drop-off box location! We currently only have one small donation box in Largo & are in desperate need of another. Now that we have 2 Free store locations & an additional Free Store to supply, we have been going through donations v v quickly. This would make a big impact in the lives of our lovely Free store patrons.
•Invite us out! Know of an event where we can set up a table & distribute free Narcan/Plan B? Please let us know! After outreach, this is our most effective method of distribution which means lives are directly impacted when you have PPA out at your event. Markets, concerts, house shows, fundraisers, etc, we do it all.

We only got one picture but PPA had an absolutely stellar Community Free Store on Sunday! 🌞🐊💚 We’re v thankful for the comrades who helped make that happen despite the rain. We are also very excited that some of our free store patrons will be organizing with PPA in the future, which will help make sure that all of our work is as effective & well-informed as possible. Following Franz Fanon’s analysis of the lumpenproletariat, the most marginalized & disenfranchised people in our communities, we know that folks experiencing homelessness or extreme poverty often have a deep understanding of the many different ways in which the colonial system has failed us. Historically, the lumpenproletariat have played significant roles in many uprisings & revolutions, as their alienation from the colonial system results in a lack of vested interest in maintaining it. Their lived experience & unique perspective can drive a deep commitment to change, & their involvement in organizing work is crucial to dismantling systematic oppression & building a just world for all.
No one should be left behind in the struggle for liberation. None of us are free until we’re all free 🕊️💚🐊

⭐️‼️ URGENT MUTUAL AID REQUEST FOR TRANS COMMUNITY MEMBER ‼️⭐️ Message from

On Monday, February 5th Mad was in a motorcycle accident, where they broke their L3 and L4 vertebrae, sustained a concussion that severely affected their speech, and injured their left leg.
Things were on the up and up, but he hasn’t been able to eat solid foods since the accident in February. A few weeks ago he was diagnosed with esophageal spasms. Because of this, several of his levels became critical and this past week, he went into kidney failure.

Since Mad hasn’t been able to get nutrients into his system, the doctors placed a feeding tube. The tube will be helpful with getting in their nutrients, medication, and allowing them to return to normal activity (yes, even roller derby!) But it’s not a permanent solution and will require medical equipment to be sent home with him.

It’s been 5 months of not being able to work and struggling financially as well as the mental toll all of this has taken.

If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it makes a huge difference to Mad to help with his survival, medical expenses, and equipment 🫶
