On July 23rd, 2024, Ayden Burt, a 28-year-old high school coach out of Jasper ISD was in town for the Texas High School Coaches Association Conference.

Just after midnight, while at a local rooftop bar on the 500 block of E Crockett St. Ayden was randomly shot and killed. Our Homicide Detectives are working to bring justice to Ayden and her family; however, details are limited.

SAPD is asking for the public's help for any information regarding this tragic incident.

Undercover Harris County deputy killed in ambush while searching for man who pistol-whipped Little Caesars employee The Sheriff's Office says the undercover officer may have had radio issues but was on the phone with another deputy before he was ambushed. He was 28-years-old and a 5-year veteran with HCSO working as part of its Violent Person's Task Force.

Taking a trip this weekend?

Here are a few tips before you head to the airport:

1. Remember it’s summer and more travelers are in the airport heading to beautiful destinations, so get to the airport early.

2. Arrive at least TWO (2) hours before the BOARDING time of your flight… Don’t miss your flight because you arrived minutes before your flight was scheduled to depart.

3. Give yourself enough time to find a parking spot, get through the security checkpoint and navigate the terminals.

4. Planning ahead equals a stress-free trip.

5. Have fun!

Last month the Airport Police training section provided all members of the department Active Shooter Training that focused on team movement and solo responders to an active shooter incident. Come join our team and protect and serve not only the citizens of San Antonio and our community, but the traveling public worldwide that travels in and out of San Antonio International on a daily basis.
