During this National Police Week, we take a moment to honor the memory of Trinity University Police Officer Marc Kelley #321, whose sacrifice in the line of duty a decade ago still resonates deeply within our hearts. In 2016, we dedicated a bench in Marc's honor, placed just outside our police department, as a testament to his unwavering dedication and service. Though time has passed, Marc remains a cherished member of our community, and his absence is felt profoundly. We carry his spirit with us always.

This week TUPD Officers will be handing out "Good Luck" bags of candy to our students as they prepare for their final exams. We 💙 our students!

It's important to continually provide avenues for our student community to contribute. Time and again, they've shown their generosity, donating hundreds of pounds of food to support the San Antonio Food Bank.

Meet Leilyani! She has mastered multitasking. While officers were handling a D.W.I. crash in front of our office, she responded to every radio call, monitored security cameras, called for E.M.S. and additional police officers from the San Antonio Police Department, and documented all of it in the Computer Aided Dispatch system. Kudos to Leilyani!

After Chief Chapa bestowed accolades and heartfelt thanks to our Telecommunication Officers, they were presented with "goody" bags with cards attached expressing our appreciation of their tireless work.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of Trinity University Police Officer Mark Uland Kelley's passing. We honored his service to the community during a presentation to his family at our annual awards banquet.

Police Officer Marc Uland Kelley Police Officer Marc Kelley suffered a fatal heart attack while responding to a fire alarm call at Verna McLean Hall on the Trinity University campus shortly before 3:00 pm.

And the recognition continues! On this day, we were privileged to acknowledge Trinity student Ms. Hope Paschall, with the Chief's Award from the Trinity University Police Department. Hope witnessed a suspicious person on campus and notified T.U.P.D.
Based on a preliminary investigation, a Community Crime Alert was distributed to the community, eventually leading to the suspect's arrest. This incident highlights the power of teamwork and community engagement!

On this day, we were privileged to acknowledge Ms. Sydney Watson, a remarkable softball player and student at Trinity University, with the Chief's Award from the Trinity University Police Department. Sydney had received a Community Crime Alert from TUPD concerning a series of thefts. Acting swiftly, she spotted the suspect on campus, promptly notified TUPD, leading to a successful arrest. This incident highlights the power of teamwork and community engagement!

Our first Chisme with the Chief was fantastic! Great connections were made with students, faculty and staff. Thanks to Assistant Chief John Rowse, Sergeant Tony Lummus and Corporal Laura Turner for participating in all that Chisme!
