Introducing our New UB Director:
Luis R. Perez Jr. brings over six years of experience in secondary education to the Upward Bound program. As a former English teacher for Pleasanton I.S.D., Mr. Perez found his passion for assisting students beyond High School. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M University where he studied Secondary Education. He acquired his Masters in Counseling from Lamar University. He previously directed the Educational Talent Search Program located at Coastal Bend College in Beeville, Texas.
Message from the Director:
I am incredibly excited to service Pleasanton, Poteet, Jourdanton, and Lytle High Schools. As a community member with ties to all campuses, I comprehend the potential of our students and the need to assist them in their post-secondary journey. Although I bring great experience and innovative ideas, I realize I am entering an extremely successful program, and I pledge to work tirelessly to sustain the successes Upward Bound has experienced.
Our students participated in the Salvation Army Angel Tree Toyshop and helped make a difference for 8,000 kids, their parents, and families during the Christmas holiday season in San Antonio on Saturday, December 9.
