KJ has been happily living downstairs in Maintenance at the Alamodome for a few months, but we can’t keep him. Looking for someone to take him home so we don’t have to kick him out. We are sad to see KJ go, but we have no choice and are looking for someone who can adopt him. Little spooked out around strangers, but once he gets to know you he is very friendly, sweet and likes attention. KJ is a young male, getting neutered and all of his vaccinations will be up to date. He comes with: a big bag of food, some cans of food, food bowl, water feeder bowl, litter box, toys and dome house. #

Little Chow Chow Winney is a very sweet girl. She jumped up on the couch the minute she walked in the door of her foster home. Obviously, been there done that. Her coat has burrs all over but it can wait a bit before a groomer visit. TEJAS can use some donations to help out with Winney. There is a donate button on the page and our website. Thank you.

Happy Macy! She found a new home where she can sit on the windowsill and watch all that goes on. Her new mom was very pleased with Macy.

These kitties were dumped on the side of the road by someone in a hatchback vehicle. A dog walker witnessed it happen. Unable to take them home, he brought food and water twice a day. When he called, the kitties came running. Four kitties were dumped, now down to 3. Tejas agreed to rescue them. All 3 are very friendly, had no fleas, and were clearly indoor kitties at one time. They are lucky to be alive.

Tejas is pulling this little Chow Chow from Kerrville KPA which is like our SAPA. She was found wandering around loose, with a halter on, full of burrs. No chip or tag but clearly owned by someone at one time. No one claimed her. After her vaccinations are updated and she is spayed, WINNIE, will be on her way to a foster in San Antonio.

Our precious boy, BO, went home this morning with his new Mom. He has another cat at his new home for company also.

Here is MULAN. ready for adoption. Mulan is 2 years old, her dad is the handsome Lobo and mom is beautiful Bella. Mulan is more like her dad, laid back more and friendly. She is good around children too. She likes her walks but does prefer her halter instead of a collar. Of course, she is spayed with all vaccinations and microchip!

Our gorgeous boy, Lobo, has been groomed, and he feels so good. Lobo was very good at the groomers. He is a smooth coat blue at 4 years old. Up for adoption.

Another Chow Chow needing a home.

Meet Duke! He's a beautiful one-year old Chow that needs a home he can call his own. He is up-to-date on vaccines and neutered. He needs to be the only pet because he is jealous of attention other pets in the home may receive. He would be perfect for a home with no children and one or two adults with whom he can bond. Can you give him the one-on-one attention he craves? If so, this is the guy for you!

Nibbles was surrendered to ACS due to his owner having some personal health problems 🙁 He is super friendly and lets you handle with no problem. A713054 is his ID number.

A blue needing a home.

Courtesy Post - Belton, TX
Meet Gilly! She's a sweet 9 year-old blue female. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and on Heartguard as a monthly preventative. She would be best in a home with no children or pets because she has become intolerant of a busy household. She doesn't like to be groomed so she needs to go to a very patient home. She is housetrained and uses a doggy door to go outside. She's never made a mistake in the house. Can you provide her with a warm home to live out her senior years? Contact Tammie - 940-631-4070 for more information.

🐾 Found Kittens? Here’s What to Do! 🐾
If you stumble upon a litter of kittens, don’t panic! Follow these steps to ensure they get the best care:

1) Check for Illness/Injury: Are they sick or hurt? Call 311 or our Helpline at 210-877-9067. If we do not answer, please leave us a message and we will get back to you ASAP.

2)Estimate Their Age:
- 1-2 weeks: Eyes closed, tiny (50-250 grams)
- 2-4 weeks: Eyes open, ears folded (250-450 grams)
- 4-6 weeks: Mobile, blue eyes, can eat wet food (1-1.5 pounds)
- 6-8 weeks: Active, eye color changing (1.5-2 pounds)
- 8+ weeks: Very active, adult eye color (2+ pounds)

3) Look for Mom: Observe from a distance for 6-8 hours. Mom is their best chance at survival! Mom could be out hunting for food, and a nervous mom may not return when people are present.

4)Can You Foster? Visit our website for resources and to apply as a foster parent: http://www.sanantonioferalcats.org/adoption/

Now we have Bella! A cream Chow Chow that is already spayed but needs a veterinarian check-up for vaccines, heartworms, or any issues. Bella has recently been groomed. TEJAS is still paying off Lobo so we could use some help for vet bills.

We are an all volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing at risk cats and dogs (predominantly Chow Chows, Chow mixes and Spitz type). We rehabilitate the future pets back to a healthy status and adopt them into loving homes. Tejas promotes spay and neuter, to alleviate the pet overpopulation in our area.
