This month marks the end of Lavonne Garrison's tenure as board chair for Methodist Healthcare Ministries. Over the past two years, our organization has broadened the definition of health care in numerous ways, as we understand that health is much more than what happens at a doctor’s office.

Under her leadership, MHM:
- Invested $330 million to advance health equity and strengthen communities across its 74-county service area
- Invested $21+ million over three years to twenty organizations to advance digital equity
- Launched two (2) innovative studies that are looking at ways to positively impact the lives of communities we serve
- Received the 2024 Governor’s Texas Award for Performance Excellence from Quality Texas Foundation.

Our organization has advanced health equity to support thriving people and thriving places across Texas, so all have an opportunity to reach their fullest potential for health and life. We are grateful to Lavonne's leadership, guidance and stewardship over these past two years, and we know she'll continue to play an important role in shaping the future direction of our organization.

“I believe in wholeness of care — we’re going to feed them, we’re going to take care of their health needs and be mindful of their finances as well.”

Wesley Nurses work within their community to provide holistic health care - physical, mental and spiritual. To meet these needs, Wesley Nurses partner with local organizations in their area to create new ways to serve patients who may not have the resources to access care.

One such partnership in Comal County is aimed at meeting patients where they're at - literally. Read this article from the Braunfels Herald-Zeitung highlighting the work of our Wesley Nurse, Dana Roby. Together with great partners, they bring the Wellness on Wheels (WOW) Mobile Clinic to life! 📰
