The GoodHood

THE GOODHOOD is on a mission to impact poverty by creating opportunity on the Eastside of San Antonio

Meet Lee’Rae. Lee’Rae is amazing! We met her in 4th grade and it’s absolutely incredible to witness the woman she has become. As she graduates, we know she is destined for greatness. It’s a reminder for all of us to see the potential in every person and to invest in one another as we seek to build something better.

San Antonio stands as one of the most socio-economically segregated cities in the nation. The ramifications of such division are particularly harsh for low-income communities, as the ZIP code in which a child is born often becomes the most influential factor in shaping their future. Recognizing this challenge, The GoodHood is committed to being a catalyst for change.

At The GoodHood, we understand that transformative shifts in systems begin with individuals. We believe in the power of people, and we are dedicated to fostering change by leading with love. Our mission is to break down barriers and cultivate positive transformation by actively engaging with the community on the Eastside.

Through our presence and actions, we aim to create educational and economic opportunities collaboratively. By working together with the residents of the Eastside, we strive to enhance the health and wealth of families. The core of our approach is rooted in building a beloved community, where relationships flourish, and everyone has the chance to thrive.

At The GoodHood, we are not just addressing socio-economic disparities; we are actively contributing to the construction of a more inclusive and prosperous community—one where every individual, regardless of their ZIP code, has the opportunity to build a brighter future.

Do Good, because God is Good.
Evil is everywhere, but overcome the evil by becoming the Good.
Our world needs us to Be Good and Do Good.

God Loves the Unlikely. Mike Brown of Tank's Pizza and Charles Foltz of The GoodHood aren't really supposed to be friends, but now they are family! We love what looks like us, walks like us and talks like us. However, when you open your life to the unlikely, incredible comes next. Its time to trust God and embrace the unlikely life!
