Big Brothers Big Sisters is a youth mentoring organization that keeps kids out of trouble and in school! Anyone can be a Big Brother or Big Sister volunteer!
Provides mentors for youth who need extra support and guidance. The agency charges no fees for service and has over 1,000 kids on a wait list! The organization needs donations to hire more case workers to manage the thousands of volunteers needed.

Big Sister Asia and Little Sister Arielle were matched last week! They enjoy the arts such as music and painting, and also enjoy being active with hiking and swimming. We can't wait to see this match grow into something special!
Program staff and new hires participated in a Documentation training that covers the importance of accurately capturing and logging information in our database and proper procedure for different scenarios that occur.
Our staff are trained, informed, and supported to ensure that we are delivering high quality services to youth, their families, and volunteers.

We established a Military Mentoring Advisory Council (MMAC) to extend our agency’s reach into the military community in order to promote awareness of the volunteer opportunities and services to youth.

Big Sister Natalie and Little Sister Aracely have been matched since December! They enjoy getting their nails done at the salon, eating Chick-Fil-A and shopping at Target.

Members of our marketing team attended the Create Now: San Antonio workshop through Adobe! They learned the new features available to use in the Adobe Suite applications to elevate our marketing materials to the next level.

As our summer reading challenge continues for enrolled youth, we encourage matches and families to stop by to pick out free books to read!
Big Sister Deanna and Little Sister Addie have been matched since 2016! Through their 8 years together, Deanna has helped Addie transition from elementary, to middle, to high school, and now will be helping her move into her freshman dorm! We are so happy for the friendship and family that they found in one another. 💚
The July Match Anniversary Party celebrated those matched together all the way from 1 to 8 years! It is important to us at BBBS to make sure that these milestones are commemorated. Every year that a mentor and mentee remains matched, they create a wall tile to add to our Hall of Fame and join us at the office for food, fun, and prizes!

Our monthly asset training centered around social competence and navigating conflict! Staff formed groups to develop definitions of what conflict is (without using negative connotations) to reframe how it is perceived and approached. Communication, awareness, and emotional intelligence are essential when handling conflict.
Today, we celebrate and thank Ulta Beauty for their partnership that’s contributed $2.4M toward youth well-being across the country. We are excited for this continued partnership that is igniting nationwide support for transformational mentorship!

What better way to spend a summer evening than at a San Antonio Missions baseball game! These mentors and mentees had a blast watching as the Missions won 10-1 against the Midland RockHounds. ⚾
