July is BIPOC Mental Health Month! ☀️

Let's take some time to raise our awareness of the unique mental health challenges faced by Black, Indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC) in the United States.

Mental Health America offers a great resource that will help you better understand the factors influencing negative beliefs about mental health in BIPOC communities, and to learn how to normalize mental health conversations effectively in your practice.

Let's come together to promote understanding and equity in mental health! 💬✨

👉 Clarify the factors for assessing fines or issuing orders under the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA).
👉Add CMIA violation to the "citable offense" definition.
👉Specify the maximum fine for CMIA violation.

Hey, licensed MFTs! As of January 1, YOU will be eligible to become Medicare providers! Are you ready for what that means?

Whether you're planning on taking on Medicare clients or not, there are things you need to know about filling out the right paperwork and setting yourself up for success.

Here are a few things you should keep in mind:

👉 If you're interested in enrolling, you can do that NOW! If you want to opt out, you need to wait until January 1 to submit your opt-out paperwork.
👉 You're either all in, or all out. You cannot be opted out for some services/locations, but not others.
👉 If you're opting out, make sure all your Medicare patients sign private contracts. You can find a template for the private contract on your MAC's website (and if you're only working from California, your MAC is Noridian).

Visit our Medicare Corner for related resources, webinars, important forms, & more! https://www.camft.org/medicare
