Let your congressman and congresswoman know the must take action to prevent a devastating $700 million cut to the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA). Victims and victim service programs will suffer greatly unless Congress acts. We ask that Congress invest adequate resources to ensure level funding for VOCA in the final FY24 budget without cutting other programs that victims and survivors rely on!


In California, we ask Senator Alex Padilla, Senator Laphonza Butler, Rep. Pete Aguilar, Congressman Raul Ruiz, MD, Congressman Ken Calvert, and Congressman Jay Obernolte to fight for survivors!

We had a very special guest last week... Mayor Helen Tran stopped by to learn more about Partners Against Violence. We look forward to working with the Mayor to improve resources for sexual assault Survivors in our city and county.

Today our Executive Director, Michelle Cates, and San Bernardino Program Director, Arlinda Wilson sat down to share with Mayor Helen Tran the support PAV has been providing to survivors of sexual assault and the community for the last 50 years and share ideas for improving community resources.

We are so excited for the Mayor's leadership and look forward to a continued partnership.

Community coming together to support each other is what makes our services possible. hosted their annual Wild West Round-up to raise money for their continued work serving survivors of Domestic Violence. It was great to connect with community leaders, hear from survivors, meet the former ED-Linda Camacho, and support our friends at the Unity Home. Our Survivor’s Garden got a little love today from volunteers at Soroptimist International San Bernardino San Bernardino and the community! We had a great day connecting and creating a welcoming space for survivors to heal.

Today was a bittersweet day in our San Bernardino Office as we said goodbye and congratulations to our own Yesenia Quevedo!

In her time at PAV Yesenia, made lasting impacts on survivors' services in several programs. Most recently Yesenia led our Prison R**e Elimination Project, working to bring trauma-informed best practices to our local detention facilities and incarcerated survivors. Yesenia will continue her work in the field at the state-wide level and we can't wait to partner with her again!

The Morongo Basin MOPs (MomCo) group had a great time building a ‘child’s brain’ and learning how early childhood trauma can create vulnerabilities that may make a child a target for sexual assault.

They shared parenting tips for how they educate their children about safe or inappropriate touch, how they protect their children, and how they enforce effective boundaries.

More than 450 students were treated to a fun and inspiring day last week at the Believe Youth Conference held at the SBC Fairgrounds in Victorville!

This past Saturday, our Victim Services Coordinator, Annie, stopped by the Fontana Police Department's Open House! She got to see the department's two K-9 officers, Officer Bautista, Officer Gearhart, the famous 🚁 Fontana Police Department’s Air Support Unit "Eagle 1", and Sparky the Fire Dog of Fontana Fire 🔥.

Karen began her advocacy work as a volunteer through Partners Against Violence.

She dedicated herself to the volunteer program for over 2 years, and shortly after was hired and became a Peer Counselor.

As a counselor, Karen is able to , guide, and support survivors of sexual assault throughout their healing journey.

October is domestic violence awareness month. As an organization, STN supports outreach efforts to educate the community on the true impact of domestic violence.

We are honored to have Karen speak on this issue.

Domestic violence knows no gender, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level. It impacts every person in our community directly or indirectly.

We are proud to create a collective, safe space for speakers like Karen, to share their stories and advocacy efforts.

❗️1 in 10 students experience sexual violence before they graduate or leave college
❗️Student survivors rarely engage with school-based reporting processes: only 5 percent of student survivors officially “report” their incident to school authorities.
❗️Studies show that only 15% of student survivors access school-based support resources.
❗️In 2016, 89 percent of colleges reported 0 instances of r**e on campus.
❗️2 million students will experience sexual violence in 2023.
