Returning to the Philippines this year to join FALEO-LA colleagues to teach some law enforcement courses at the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).
The Philippine National Police is structured like the military - with an enlisted corps and an officer corps. The Academy trains the future officer corps of the Philippine National Police.
Looking forward to this great experience!
Remembering Officer Dave Checuti today, April 26. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Patrolman David Chetcuti was shot and killed on April 26, 1998, after responding to backup another officer from a neighboring agency who was being shot at.
A San Bruno police officer had stopped the suspect for not having current registration at US 101 and the Millbrae Avenue offramp at 10:00 am. As the officer approached the suspect's car, the suspect produced a high-powered rifle and opened fire.
The officer was able to escape injury by diving into a drainage ditch for cover and calling for help. Patrolman Chetcuti, a motorcycle officer, was the first responding officer on the scene. As he pulled up, the suspect opened fire on him, striking him several times in the head and chest. The suspect then stole his weapon and fled the scene. A short chase ended until the suspect stopped and exited the vehicle with his hands in the air. He had multiple weapons and pipe bombs in his vehicle.

Thank you to all!

Attended the CCUPCA-sponsored Campus Safety Seminar at Cerritos College today hosted by the Daly Strategic Group. It was good to see meet up with colleagues and see many familiar and new faces in the profession.
The lineup of presenters (Ret Chief Leslie Ramirez, Chief Steve McQueen, and Captain Brian Hill) was spot on with their experience on public safety in California campuses.
Great work by Daly Strategic for a well-organized event!
