Since May is National Bike Month, we are spreading awareness about important bike laws and regulations, bike infrastructure and bike safety tips to get you ready and informed to take on the road.

Today we are discussing roundabouts, a popular infrastructure used in San Diego to reduce traffic speeds and continue the flow of traffic.

As a cyclist, do you feel safe using roundabouts? Do you notice drivers properly yielding, or do you see most drivers fully stop or move through without yielding to traffic already in the roundabout?

As a reminder, we are trying to raise $10,000 dollars this month! With your help, we can continue to raise awareness about bike issues. Click the link to donate: https://sdbikecoalition.org/2024-bike-month-fundraiser/

Funding for this bike safety social media campaign is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Advocate, Educate, Celebrate Bicycling in San Diego County

The San Diego County Bicycle Coalition advocates for and protects the rights of all people who ride bicycles. We promote bicycling as a mainstream, safe, and enjoyable form of transportation and recreation.

Since 1987, we have acted as a voice for bicyclists in the region and have advocated for safer streets and hundreds of miles of bike paths, lanes, and trails all across the San Diego region. We conduct educational programs, promote awareness of bicyclists and bicycling issues, review infrastructure improvements, and act as a voice for bicyclists to elected officials and decision-makers all over San Diego County.

We believe bicycling is a healthy, affordable, and environmentally friendly form of transportation and recreation that should be safe and attractive to everyone who wants to ride, wherever their destination and whatever their purpose. Bicycling is good for our communities and for the people who ride, and so we work to increase the number of people who ride bikes as a regular part of their lives.

To learn more and join us, please visit www.sdbikecoalition.org. Happy riding! 🚲
