When we made the difficult decision to close SWS in 2018, we vowed to continue to share our knowledge, resources, and connections to those who shared our belief in the power of dance to transform lives. Josh Edelman is one of those people, and we are proud to support his efforts. Currently deployed in Bagram Afghanistan, Josh shared this video below of his program there and I hope it makes you smile as much as I did. Sending lots of love to our deployed troops, especially today on Veteran's Day. ~Jen ๐

As we prepare to take this page offline this Friday 03/09/18, we want to take one final moment to thank you, our loyal fans, for all the years of support. This has been an amazing journey, and we couldn't have done it without all of you. To the brave men and women we had the honor of meeting through our dance programs and on behalf of our teaching staff and Board of Directors, THANK YOU for your courage and willingness to allow us into your lives and be part of your recovery. It has been an honor to serve you.
Our hearts are heavy today as we learned about the passing of one of our beloved Soldiers Who Salsa instructors from the DC area, Manny Diaz. Manny's brother was an active duty Sailor with the USN at the time of Manny's 1st kidney transplant, so he was thrilled to be a part of a program where he could utilize his gift of teaching dance to the military men and women recovering at WRNMMC in Bethesda, MD. Within weeks of starting the program, Manny's enthusiastic teaching style helped his class become the largest ever at the time, easily attracting 25+ every week. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends, and were honored to have him be a part of our dance family. He gave so much joy to all who knew him.
One of our favorite interviews with K**I in San Diego! Thank you JT III for sharing your story and inspiring others.
With heavy hearts, we must inform you that after careful review of our resources and ability to best serve our participants and instructors, Soldiers Who Salsa has made the difficult decision to cease operations at the end of February 2018.
We are grateful for the hundreds of service members and their families who have come to our classes and allowed us to be a part of their recovery, rehabilitation, and reconnection journey. We also thank the donors, instructors, volunteers, and board members who have given a part of themselves to this mission.
While Soldiers Who Salsa may be closing its doors, donโt stop dancing! Keep the memories alive by posting your favorite moment and tag your friends and family.
