In a public park in Tijuana, the Haitian Bridge Alliance regularly hosts an event called “Know Your Rights” (KYR). Here, members of our legal and humanitarian team come together with the Haitian community and any other individuals seeking asylum in the US, providing crucial information about their rights as they pursue protection.
For the past several days, our team expanded our outreach efforts by traveling to Tapachula and Mexico City to raise awareness about US immigration law at different spots along the migration route. Access to Kreyol-speaking legal counsel is not just important—it’s lifesaving.
To help ensure that legal resources and information reach those who need them most, please consider donating today. Your help will continue protecting asylum as a human right.

Haitian media legend is joining the Haitian Bridge Alliance team for the next week to document the powerful stories of migration. One of our first stops was in Tijuana, where we met a man from Haiti who fled his homeland due to instability. Now a barber near a bustling street market in Tijuana, his story is a testament to the resilience of the Haitian community in Tijuana and the strength it takes to adapt, survive, and thrive.
Haitian Bridge Alliance’s Executive Director, Guerline Jozef .jozef is in East Africa addressing root causes of forced displacement/ migration of people of African descent due climate, political crisis, human rights abuses, gender based violence and many more.
In order to better understand the realities and impact of forced migration as a global issue, Guerline Jozef met with local communities and leaders to advocate and serve vulnerable people with dignity, compassion and love.
✨From the US to East Africa and beyond, the Haitian Bridge Alliance continues to advocate and serve✨

The Haitian Bridge Alliance recently created a vital space for the Haitian community in Tijuana to come together, share their stories, and reflect on their experiences of setting up life in a new country. In a city that has become a crossroads for many migrants, these gatherings allowed individuals to connect over shared challenges and triumphs, finding comfort and solidarity in each other’s experiences.
Many members of the community spoke about the decision to build new lives in Tijuana. Choosing to settle in this city after long wait times to seek asylum in the US was no longer viable. Despite the hardships, they have created vibrant, resilient communities, contributing to the cultural fabric of Tijuana.
Haitian media personality Carel Pedre joined us for this powerful moment. His presence and documentation of their voices helped to amplify their experiences, ensuring that these narratives are heard beyond the borders of Tijuana. This gathering was more than just a sharing of immigration stories; it was an affirmation of the strength and unity of the Haitian community in Mexico.
Thank you to for lending us your community space!
Haitian Bridge Alliance’s community organizer, Vivianne Petit Frere welcomes Haitian media personality, Carel Pedre at her haitian restaurant, Lakou Lakay in Tijuana, Mexico. Byenveni Carel! The Haitian Bridge Alliance was honored to join our incredible partners from and for critical discussions on facing attacks ahead of the election season.
Thank you again to for creating a space for these crucial conversations and for bringing together so many important partners. Together, we are planning the next steps to protect our communities during this time when lives are at stake.
Last week Haiti was on the agenda at the White House
The Haitian Bridge Alliance attended a special briefing at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building to meet with members of the Biden administration and provide an update on the situation in Haiti. During the meeting, we emphasized the urgent need to continue protecting Haitian nationals in the US. This includes halting all deportations by land, air and sea as the nation is suffering from civil unreset. We also called for oversight of foreign actors now intervening in Haiti.
The Haitian Bridge Alliance is dedicated to holding our leaders accountable as we work tirelessly to ensure Haiti’s protection and prosperity.
Thank you for and for speaking out and standing up for our community

The conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is one of the deadliest in modern history: over 7 million people have been killed, and 8 million displaced. The conditions are not safe for people to return to and while the administration has voiced concerns about DRC, it has not taken the necessary action to protect Congolese people.
The Biden Administration has the power to protect Congolese people here in the US through Temporary Protected Status and provide relief to individuals and families at risk of being returned to these deadly conditions. Join us as we raise our voices for the people of !

The Haitian Bridge Alliance mourns the loss of dozens of Haitian individuals who tragically perished in a fire yesterday during their search for safety.
This was another disaster that demonstrates the need for safe and legal pathways for migration all over the world. People forced to take perilous routes leads to cruel loss of life.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, a remarkable leader and tireless advocate for immigrant rights. Her dedication to justice and equality was unwavering, exemplified by her journey to Del Rio in 2021 to witness firsthand the challenges faced by Black migrants seeking safety and protection. Her commitment to those most vulnerable will forever inspire us. May her soul rest in peace and in power🕊️
While there is still so much more to do, this was such a monumental win yesterday!

Our client, Fanor Massolas explains that currently, going back to Haiti is not an option. "The U.S. is his home even though he doesn’t have citizenship. This is where he lives, where he works, where he’s been able to go to school and learn English."
The recent TPS redesignation and extension was a crucial move to protect the lives of so many in this country.
Biden administration extends temporary legal status to 300,000 Haitians, drawing a contrast to Trump The Homeland Security Department says more than 300,000 Haitians already in the United States will be eligible for a major expansion of temporary legal status because conditions in the Caribbean nation are unsafe for return.

Prezidan Biden pwolonje TPS pou yon lòt 18 mwa, jiska 3 fevriye 2026.
President Biden extended TPS for another 18 months until February 3, 2026. If you already have TPS, you must re-register by filing another TPS application (Form I-821) by August 30, 2024 to keep your TPS status. This is very important, if you do not re-register or if you file after August 30, 2024, you will lose TPS!
