Although Route 101 remains closed, we’re concerned about the continued spread of covid-19 variants in the community and endorse this new policy proactively announced this afternoon by the SF Bar Owner Alliance. As a bar that can’t function as a restaurant, we can’t envision opening unless the patrons inside can move about freely and maskless. Although the city and state have offered little guidance since June 15th, in our view the only responsible way to allow for that right now would be by verifying vaccination status at the door. Further clarification on how this policy would be implemented at the 101 will be announced subsequently when we have an exact reopening date. But in the meantime, please respect the SF bars enforcing the new policy this week and moving forward. Let’s do everything we can to stop this virus from spreading and mutating, and keep the SF bar scene alive.

How young, naive, and unimaginative we were a year ago to think it couldn’t get any worse than 2019. 😂 “2020” had such a nice ring to it, and looked so great on paper. But alas, the “perfect vision” was only a mirage. Hardly any fuel to fill up with, just the simmering embers from sweet daydreams of the . 💭🔥

Well, that escalated quickly. With under a half hour to go until the Bay Area’s order goes into effect, we’re all grappling with how the temporary restrictions public health officials have recommended in order to impact our daily lives and livelihoods. Let’s all try to remember that we’re in this boat together, safely help one another where we can, and treat everyone -online and at the grocery stores- with a little extra kindness and understanding. A little cooperation and personal sacrifice for the greater good may save lives, but will also surely make us stronger in the long run. And by taking strict precautions now, happier times just might be around the corner sooner than otherwise. Hang in there, San Francisco! We got this.

With apologies for prior ambiguity, Route 101’s posted hours right now are 7pm-2am every day. We’ll often be open earlier for Warriors games, Regency concerts, and other special events but if you’re commuting from other parts of the city you can be confident about dropping in from 7-2. Accordingly Happy Hour will last until 9pm, Monday through Friday. 🙏 🍻
