The A-team returned from a week in Vegas. Such a great gift to work alongside super talented, smart and fun people who give their all for their work. Over 5 months, 12 films were created for the main stage arena and 18,000+ attendees. To our partners and clients, who are as close as our family we say thank you and congratulations.

Precision car parking, drums and production tricks learned in the pandemic come together in a fun shoot this week. The best part of course is being back together!

When your work consumes a good chunk of your life, it’s great to spend that time with people you love and respect. Couldn’t ask for more!

On the road again. After the two year pause we are amped to be back to Vegas in a big way. Great to see our group in one spot early this am. Rested up and ready to go.
Kudos to PM - 6x champion driver and Remedy Producer/ Director for safely and quickly getting the gear to the destination. Huzzah!

We are proud to note that today marks EP Chris Valente ‘s 14th year of working at Remedy. He walked in as an Editor and we quickly locked the door behind him. We can’t express enough what a fantastic fellow, writer, producer, editor, terrific leader, father and smart savvy production / post animal you are. We took a poll internally and decided that Chris’ greatest superpower is the well-timed and perfectly chosen curse word. We have a lot of amazing folks at Remedy, but it starts with you amigo. Happy Anniversary and thank you!

Welcome our new Assistant Editor. Our hybrid work philosophy is built around getting back to basics in editorial, where assistant editors are the backbone of the process. Day2 for Alexis - with screwdriver in hand working via Slack with Post Supv updating a RAID array. We are stoked to have you with us Alexis!

As continues to evolve our production pipeline and hybrid workspace, one thing is for sure: You need hyper-smart artists and technologists who are never satisfied with default and are constantly asking “what-if?” Our new teammate has all of those skills rolled into one friendly human.

We’re so happy to welcome Riccardo to the Remedy family as Post Production Supervisor! Riccardo is a multi-disciplinary editor / designer / system architect who comes to us from the feature documentary world. He is upscaling our ability to wrangle massive data on the set and designing workflows to push that footage to our editors wherever they are.

Riccardo also composes and produces music, and travels between his homes in San Francisco and his Colorado mountain hideaway. Welcome Riccardo!

Newly minted Tennessee-based A’s fan Mr Johnny White and Mr. Ethan Johnson came by today for a visit, a beer and to swap stories about Johnny’s son Joel. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, Johnny.

Four weeks ago we lost our beloved colleague, sr. editor, sound mixer, colorist, and our best friend, Joel White.

Joel was taken from us in a motorcycle accident in Alameda.
We remain in a state of shock and profound grief. 

To say that Joel touched the lives of many people in our community is an understatement.
He is beloved by hundreds of colleagues and friends. It’s a tight knit community, and we’re not alone in grieving the loss of our dear friend, who was a brother to us.

Joel began with us in 2011 as an assistant editor and left us as Sr Editor and Creative.
Joel was a vital artist in our success, from the blank canvas of ideas to the perfection of a final master. He embraced every aspect of our work life and was beloved by not only us, but also our clients, who have all expressed heartwarming sentiments.

Joel was our center, our moral compass.

Never one to give a glib response to a question, Joel was warm, polite, and intentional. His knowledge of cinema was awe inspiring. He was unmerciful in his critique of film, and unwavering in his respect for the craft. He would seek out the very best 4K restorations of an obscure 70s crime film and crate dig for first edition vinyl of Can. He was a fantastic drummer, which combined with his command of English literature and conversational French made him an incredible editor.
 
His earnest approach to life, his humor and kindness, his care for the smallest detail of everything he undertook made us continually thankful and proud of him. And in recent years, as his role at Remedy grew, he became an amazing leader, and a mentor to others. Joel was a teacher, a giver, a friend. We love you Joel, and we will never forget the impact you made on our lives.

Ok after 22 months. Production in PDX. Wouldn’t be legit without a trip to the apple store. On the road again.

Our 20 custom remote kits have been workhorses of cinematic remote production since April 2020. Of course there’s more to it than just the camera and the lens. Digital scouting, menu simplicity and a healthy dose of “Coaching Up” and encouragement goes a long way. Our goal is to elevate the interview from the utilitarian web call that we all do everyday and make it a discussion of lasting value.

Also, Sam is a former D1 athlete, so we’re pretty sure she can smoke you in a rowing competition any day, just saying.
