Hey Students! Please note that the location, date, and time details for the upcoming onsite Orientation for Fall 2022 have been changed to:

Saturday, August 27th - 11:30 am - 2:30 pm at 601 Brannan St.

This change allows for a more exciting and fun event including:

Additional Notes:

- Open to all new students. Onsite, hybrid & online are all welcome.
- Student clubs and key departments will be in attendance.
- Shuttles will be coordinated and provided from 180 New Montgomery as well as the Sutter Corridor (620, 680, & 825 Sutter).

The San Francisco Fleet Week Association (SFFWA) is a 501©3 non-profit organization whose mission is the planning ex*****on of the annual San Francisco Fleet Week events. The funding for the organization comes from private donations, City and County of San Francisco grants, revenue from the annual air show and other miscellaneous sources.

The App Developer Intern, under supervision of the Executive Director and the Deputy Public Affairs Officer, serves as the developer for the San Francisco Fleet Week Association Mobile Application. This position will also provide updates to the mobile application to support the SFFWA Team for the planning and ex*****on of the annual SFFW Event.

This position has a degree of autonomy and requires professionalism and organization to complete the tasks below.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Update SFFWA mobile app with up-to-date event times, and location.
- Make changes to the App when the situation arises.
- Ensure the app is functional on both the Apple and Android platform.
- Adding visual content on corresponding pages.
- Troubleshooting the mobile application.

Qualifications:

- Ability to work with app developing programs
- Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets
- Ability to communicate with the SFFWA team via email and Microsoft Teams
- Ability to coordinate work efforts in a fast-paced environment

Neon Was Never Brighter is the inaugural event in CMAC’s multi-year slate of arts, media, and cultural programming in Chinatown, culminating in the Spring 2025 opening of Edge on the Square, the region’s first permanent Asian Pacific Islander contemporary art and media hub. CMAC envisions Edge on the Square as a transformative addition to the neighborhood, both complementing the area’s legacy restaurants and businesses, and spurring local economic development.

Hey Students! Fashion’s student run club, Beyond the Front Row, is hosting a design competition to raise awareness and support for Ukraine. It is open to all students.

Over the past few weeks, the world has watched as Russian forces invaded Ukraine. Watching from half a world away, it’s hard not to feel helpless and frustrated.
In an endeavor to contribute to efforts for peace, Beyond the Front Row is organizing an art competition – ' ' – aimed towards supporting the cause of artists, artisans and designers in Ukraine.

The winner gets to see their artwork printed on merchandise and sold to raise funds for Ukraine. The winning artwork will also be featured on Academy of Art University buildings.

Submission Guidelines:
• Entries must follow the competition theme , centered around support of positivity and peace.
• Competition is open to all students.
• Photography & Digital Arts are included but video is excluded. Hand rendered submissions must be scanned.
• Files must be in JPG format.
• Files may not exceed 3MB.
• Images may only be entered
• There is no limit to the number of images that an artist can submit, however, each image will be considered a single submission.
