About 13% (1 out of 8) of women will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. Thank you so much to Dr. Ricki Pollycove for coming in to discuss what to look for, treatments and prevention. What can women do to be proactive in our own health? 1) Advocate for your self! Trust your instinct! 2) look at the products you put in you and on you. 3) Stress management 4)sleep 5)EXERCISE!! 6) Maintain a health weight. Wendy Larkin Personal Training is pleased to announce the return of Dr. Ricki Pollycove, May 9th at 6 p.m. Her lecture, "100 years of Breast Cancer" will include some of the evolving biology of breast cancer, lifestyle changes to lower risk and reccurrence and how to sustain optimal self care to reduce risk of diabetes & heart disease. Tickets will go on sale April 25th and there are only 20 seats available. All proceeds will go to California Institute of Integral Studies to help support students with tuition and other needs. After almost a year, I’ve finally completed the advanced studies of the Medical Exercise Specialist Program. I’ve studied and completed many courses of the years, but the MES is the only one that has taught explanations of conditions, protocols and contraindications, in addition to exercise therapies. Big thank you to and Dr. Thrasher for sharing their knowledge, giving support, and guiding me to provide the highest level of service to my medical clientele.

1) live a healthy lifestyle that includes low glycemic and high fiber foods
2) get regular exercise. 3) reduce stress 4) find happiness daily 5) advocate for yourself and your health! 6) don’t dismiss when you don’t feel ok! #

I’m so excited to have Dr. Ricki Pollycove give a talk at my studio concerning Women’s hormones and their health. Dr. Pollycove has a national reputation for offering highly individualized and sensitive health care to women for over 35 years. Not only does she specialize in menopausal medicine but is a researcher and specialist in breast cancer and treatment options. In addition, Sarah Yeregui from will be demonstrating the use of aromatherapy to balance hormones. This is a sold out event! Stay tuned for more lectures next year.

Over 38 million women are or will be in various stages of hormonal changes which will influence, and be influenced by, exercise and nutrition. Regardless of activity level, most women experience signs, symptoms and side effects. These include but are not limited to brain fog, weight gain, belly fat, hot flashes and night sweats to name a few. As a menopause fitness specialist, I can explain the hormonal changes and recommend appropriate exercise and nutrition based on what phase of life you are in.

For over 17 years I have been providing fitness, nutrition and corrective exercise training to a wide range of clientele. I am certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, American Academy of Health, Fitness and Post Rehab Professionals, Cancer Exercise Training Institute, Precision Nutrition and Evidence Based Fitness Academy.

With my diverse education, I can individualized exercise programs to fit your specific needs. My goal is to provide you with the skills to succeed on your own, whether that is for recovery, strength/performance or nutritional needs.

My own training has been in martial arts and running/obstacle courses. Currently I have earned a 2nd degree black belt in Kyokushin Karate, have completed 2 marathons and more half marathon and under than I can count, plus mud runs and urbanathalons.
