Good evening, Facebook. I realize that I have been incredibly remiss in updating this space. At the end of November, I left KCBS Radio to pursue a career outside of broadcasting. I have a new job in communications that I’m very excited about, but there is nothing quite like radio, is there?

I decided at age 18 that I wanted to be on the air, and what followed was an incredible three-decade ride. I have so many fond memories and met so many creative, smart people. I started as a DJ then shifted to news, and it was my honor to tell the stories of the Bay Area and beyond for almost 18-1/2 years at KCBS.

About 15 years ago when I was a baby anchor at KCBS, I worked on Saturday and Sunday nights. Late one Saturday, I was joined on the air by a brand spanking new traffic reporter who was just a year or two out of Cal. I heard her and immediately thought, “Holy cow, she’s good. Really good!”

That traffic reporter was Kate Scott.

I had no idea way back then that she’d be such a trailblazer, but I’m not at all surprised.
