Farming Hope’s first ever ‘Eat Your Scraps!’ competition at their Hope Feast event was a burning success! 🔥 It was an honor to donate fresh, ready-to-be-cooked produce like portobello mushrooms, green beans, carrots, strawberries, watermelons, cauliflower (and more) to be used in delicious dishes curated by talented local chefs. Our very own Carolyn Lasar even made a special appearance as a judge in this year’s competition!

Farming Hope is one of our community partners in our Food Recovery Program. Through this program, we source fresh, surplus produce and redistribute it to our neighbors in need. This year alone, Farming Hope has prepared over 70,000 meals for food-insecure neighbors with the help of our program.

Congratulations to Kitty Ditpare and Michelle Minori for a well deserved win and thank you to Farming Hope for letting us support such a fantastic event!

The SF Market is deeply honored to have been selected as a host site for an APEC meeting convened yesterday by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that focused on food affordability and innovation. Thanks to Arcadio’s Produce, we were proud to provide our critical food infrastructure for this important conversation among industry and community leaders. We are grateful to Prime Minister Trudeau for recognizing the essential role that wholesale produce markets play in the global food system and as always privileged to serve as a resource for San Francisco, the Bay Area and California food economies.

Happy Halloween! 🎃 What better way to get in the spooky spirit than by decorating pumpkins with some smiling faces?

We were delighted to have donated some ready-to-decorate pumpkins, sourced from S&L Wholesale Produce, to Bayview Hunters Point organizations doing great work in our neighborhood: EDot- Economic Development on Third, San Francisco Housing Development Corporation, and the SF African-American Arts and Cultural District.

We hope our contribution spreads the Halloween cheer and brings smiles to everyone's faces. Just take a look at these photos from Feline Finesse Dance Company's 3rd Annual All Good in the Hood Pumpkin Patch!

Fall is here at and S&L Wholesale Produce is stocked up with fresh pumpkins and gourds. 🎃 - S&L Wholesale Produce is one of our most unique merchants at The SF Market because they are both a grower and supplier!
Their team farms seasonally to provide staple products for multiple businesses at The SF Market, as well as for their produce stand in the Suisun Valley.

We have come a long way from the crowded downtown space that once held our wholesale market to the 23-acre campus we currently reside on. 🌱

In partnership with the City and County of San Francisco - Government, we opened our Bayview Hunters Point doors in 1963, and have been here ever since. Through the continued implementation of our Reinvestment Project, our committed merchants, and the expansion of our community programs, The SF Market envisions a vibrant, thriving, and sustainable food system that will feed our region for years to come.
