Hillel of Silicon Valley's (HSV) mission is provide a welcoming supportive environment to enrich students’ college experience and enable them to connect with the Jewish community and Israel.
Young Jewish voters play a unique role in this election for many reasons. The Gaza War has caused huge divisions both within the Jewish community and with other voter groups throughout the nation and the world. College campuses have become the front lines of the most visibile and often violent confrontations in which their beliefs are put to the test.
Join a discussion with Dan Schnur, who teaches political communications at USC, UC Berkeley and Pepperdine University and who is the US Politics editor for the Jewish journal in LA, about these challenges, and how to navigate them in the middle of this historic, unusual and polorizing campaign. 🇺🇸🗳️

Please consider signing this petition in support of California Assembly Bill 1287 which would require institutions of higher education to update and enforce provisions in their student codes to prevent instances of intimidation, harassment, and violence on college campuses. The bill would also require each system of higher education to develop training programs to educate students on civil discourse. Thank you for joining in this important action!

We are so proud of Dan, a Jewish/Israeli student at De Anza College for his leadership and keen understanding of Zionism. Dan is president of the Jewish Student Union at De Anza and Hillel of Silicon Valley student leader. In this video, Dan is interviewed by One Tribe One Star about a pro-Israel rally he organized on campus. You will be very proud too!

Hillel of Silicon Valley is more than just a place to gather – it's a home away from home, a refuge where Jewish students can be themselves.
“Hillel has made me feel more connected to my Jewish culture and community by providing a consistent place where I can safely identify as a Jew.”
"Hillel has helped me meet new friends who are very dear to me and has also helped me come out of my shell."
We are just over halfway through to reaching our goal of 34 gifts. Even the smallest donation will help us earn an additional $500!

This is the first Yom Ha’atzmaut since the horrific terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7. For our students, and for many Jewish people around the world, this year’s Yom Ha’atzmaut is unlike any other — more meaningful, emotional, and inspiring — — especially as antisemitism rises on college campuses across the globe.
Today, you can help inspire more students like these build a lasting connection to Jewish life, Jewish learning, and Israel. 🇮🇱
Help us reach our goal of 34 contributions! ❤️

Today we observe Yom HaZikaron, Israel's Memorial Day, to remember fallen soldiers and victims of terror.
This year will be particularly challenging due to the brutal and tragic terror attack in Israel on October 7th, 2023.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have lost loved ones due to terror... ❤️🕯️
Great letter from Jewish students from Columbia University. Please share widely with your contacts!
In Our Name: A Message from Jewish Students at Columbia University Over the past six months, many have spoken in our name. Some are well-meaning alumni or non-affiliates who show up to wave the Israeli flag outside Columbia’s gates. Some are politicians looking to use our experiences to foment America’s culture war. Most notably, some are our Jewish peers who t...
Please join my team (or create your own team) to help us raise funds to support Hillel of Silicon Valley during Hillel Global Giving Week, May 12-17. I have set a modest goal for my team of $500 toward our Hillel's overall goal of $10,000. Individual gifts of up to $2,000 will be matched by Hillel International up to a total of $5,000.
If you haven't yet had the opportunity to support Hillel of Silicon Valley, you will be able to do so on this site. Please note: While you can set up a team now to support our Hillel, gifts made prior to May 12 will not count toward the match. Thank you for your efforts in support of me and Hillel of Silicon Valley.
As you discuss the current status of the Israel-Hamas War with friends and family, you may find the information contained in this resource site helpful in refuting myths and misinformation.
Myths About Israel An Israeli invasion of Rafah is the only way to permanently end Hamas’s reign of terror for both Israel and the people of Gaza. Yet once again, the world’s media promotes the false Hamas starvation narrative. The fact is there is more food now in Gaza than at any point since the start of the war...

So what is it Mimona?
😃
Mimouna is a traditional North African Jewish celebration that marks the end of Passover, symbolizing a joyous transition from the solemn observances of the holiday to a time of abundance and communal celebration. Originating in the Maghreb region, particularly in Morocco, Mimouna has become a cherished tradition among Jewish communities worldwide. It is characterized by lively festivities, where families and friends come together to enjoy sweet treats, pastries, and symbolic foods, representing prosperity and fertility. Mimouna embodies the spirit of renewal and community, emphasizing unity, generosity, and hope for the future as it follows the conclusion of Passover's dietary restrictions and ushers in the spring season.
