Tickets are on sale for RIDE THE CYCLONE! Seating is limited, so be sure to purchase your tickets as soon as possible. ASL interpreter will be available at 2pm show on Saturday, June 8th. Performances will be held in the Black Box Theatre. There will be no intermission, so concessions will be sold before the show.

WHY ARE YOU WEARING THAT?

We are offering an 8 week course that begins on April 15th that will explore the costume of different periods and styles. Class meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 10:05am to 1:25pm and taught by Kara McLeod. Register at www.sac.edu.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd at 6pm. Invited call backs on Wednesday, April 3rd at 6pm.

Please prepare 16-32 bars of contemporary musical theatre. Bring sheet music or track music to perform your song selection. An accompanist will be provided. After music portion, you will learn some choreography for the dance portion. Please bring clothes to move in.

If auditioning exclusively for The Amazing Karnak, you will not be required to sing, instead please prepare a 1-minute monologue or be prepared to read from a side provided. ​

Rehearsals will be Monday through Thursday from 6pm-10:30pm starting April 15th.

Matthews’ next directing project is an ambitious production of King Richard III at Santa Ana College, a creative space made possible because of Amberly Chamberlin, the theatre department chair, who champions giving creatives a space to hone their craft.

You have to register, and the school frames it as emerging artist having a space to do stuff. The department is shrinking in terms of its student body and The chair Amberly Chamberlin is trying to utilize it. So, I’m grateful she’s giving us the space to work and hone our craft.

Disney Live Entertainment is seeking submissions for MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMERS for an exciting new Broadway-caliber theatrical production. Plans are for a limited run in the state-of-the-art, indoor, 2000-seat Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure Park.

SACTA welcomes back playwright, director and designer, Matthew M. Hayashi, who will be directing our Spring production of Richard III. Matthew directed our virtual production of Radium Girls in Spring of 2021, and we are excited to see what he does on our mainstage in Phillips Hall.
