Congratulations to our Fire Tech student, Jadon Van Voorhis, for helping save a life! He was recognized at the latest board meeting.
We are so proud of you, Jadon!🙌

Earlier this week, Fire Tech student Jadon Van Voorhis was recognized at the Board of Trustees meeting with the Life Saving award for his heroic actions dating back in fall 2023.

Van Voorhis was working as a recreation staff at Grand Ave Park in Chino Hills, when he and a co-worker saw a patron suffer cardiac arrest. Van Voorhis and his co-worker ran to the scene with an automated external defibrillator (AED). The SAC student administered chest compressions and used the AED while his coworker cleared the scene and directed medical personnel to the patron.

Van Voorhis performed CPR for about two minutes until firefighters arrived and were able to continue CPR to regain a pulse, saving the patron's life.
