K-9 BILL: it’s embarrassing that a Riverside County assemblyman sponsored a completely ridiculous bill. Thankfully the majority of our state assembly had enough common sense to reject this waste of government time. K-9’s are an invaluable tool used by law enforcement to keep our communities and deputies safe.

We have good news and bad news.....Bad news, we cannot have an Annual Benefit K9 show this year as the stadium will be under construction. Good news is we will be at the Scottish Fest this weekend on Saturday and Sunday doing a few short demos and our booth will be there selling merchandise. So you can still support your OC K9 teams if you'd like to attend and/or you can still donate on our website., OCPCA.org. We do plan to be back in action next year, so stayed tuned. We hope to see you this weekend - thank you for all your support and nice messages. We appreciate you !!

Update...both days demos are in the grandstand next to the hangar (where the speedway racing is done) at 2ish and handlers and dogs will be at the booth for meet and greets during the day.

is six-years-old and partnered with Officer T. Ashbaugh. He is currently assigned to patrol and deploys with SWAT.

In the last four years, Kody has responded to over 4,200 calls for service, been responsible for the surrender of 222 suspects, and apprehended 13 dangerous criminals.

Being a is a dangerous job and hard work. As a result, Kody had two broken canine teeth, required four root canals, and also needed crowns put on all four of his canine teeth.

We were able to pay for a portion of the cost, and are extremely thankful the graciously stepped in and covered the rest of the expenses.

With heavy hearts, we announce the devastating death of Deputy Isaiah Cordero, who was killed in the line of duty this afternoon. Our Department would like to thank the community and our allied agencies for the outpouring show of support during this tragedy. Our hearts and prayers go out to his loved ones.

K9 Chavo served the residents of Orange County for nearly 6 years as a member of the OCSD Patrol K9 Unit. K9 Chavo and his handler, Deputy (now Sergeant) Alvarez, took a proactive role in protecting the community they served. During his time on Patrol, K9 Chavo assisted with the safe apprehension of numerous dangerous suspects as well as the detection of narcotics, narcotics related currency, and illegal fi****ms throughout the County. K9 Chavo retired in October of 2019. K9 Chavo was fortunate enough to spend his remaining years in retirement with his family and passed away at home in the presence of those who loved him most 💙

K9 Chavo, we thank you for your unwavering dedication to the protection and safety of our partners and the community. Your courageous demeanor was matched only by the love you showed to those around you. You represented what it is to be a guardian and you will surely be missed by all. Rest easy buddy we love you. We’ll hold the line from here.
